Golf 2022

That was my nemesis as well.
I found that when playing in strokeplay competitions you have to think about every single shot, which helped get rid of 5-6 daft shots I’d usually make each round.
Managed to card a few rounds last year between 87-89 doing that. 👍
When i first started playing my aim was to break 100. Once i started to break it on a regular basis my next aim was to break 90. I used to look at it like this. 90 = 5 shots per hole. At Seaham we have 5 par 3s so if i parred any of them i would have shots to play with on other holes.”

Aye managed a 2 during an abysmal game yesterday.
When ive managed a good score, getting 2s n 3s on the par 3s allows fuck ups elsewhere. 😂

Hit best ever 87 last year. Id just love to be in n around that!

Maybe those of us who are club members could post their club on here and if anyone wants a game they could be signed on cheaply!

I'll kick it off as a member at Whitburn
Weirdly Throston (Hartlepool) dont offer mates rates for members.

£20 for all or £600 a year.

I’m playing in the morning, my goals for the year are to get to single figures (it was the same aim this time last year) but I hover around 10/11/12. I found a new instructor this year though and after doing the same drills over and over I have noticed my ball striking has improved. It’s the driver that kills me. I’m just too erratic with it. He also gave me a putting lesson a few months ago and I have noticed my speed has improved massively. I can’t recommend the lad enough tbh (Andy at Hexham).

Too far away for me and recommend any local ones - tried a couple and never really clicked plus never got onto putting so I've taught myself. I'm in Shiney so there's a fair few courses within 15 minutes where I could get lessons

I’m Durham based so unsure of who’s good in your part of the world unfortunately. I try and mix the lessons up with long and short game but tbh my long game is what costs me more shots so I focus on that 2/3 of the time.

Same as usual folks. All things golf related for us to chat about. What's your plans what courses are you playing what's your realistic handicap hopes etc etc.

This year for me it's to get into single figures. Started the year off round about 19 finished off at 11.2 so I've for to knock off 2. Gonna take some lessons cos my putting is shocking tbh and the Mrs wants to come along and learn to play too.
Sad

Goal this year for me, simply find my mojo again. I was hitting low 80’s and looked on course to break it. My swing then went to pot and I’ve not been able to get back to where I was.
