Drones

I did nothing like that, as you said........ Whoops 🙄 but I have discovered my Drone is unaware of my lack of paperwork, and flies just as well as Drones belonging to more legit types 👍
Aye but you live life on the edge in remote lands. I live in a place where a picky tea is a bit wild.

nice one grandad. 2019 was when you actually had to register when the new rules came in though. like i said, i 've had mine from 2015 but have to register it

I stepped out of my comfort zone and rebelled a little, I took drone rules as flexible and optional, I can strap a paramotor on my back in the UK and fly at 10,000 feet with no licensing so a tiny drone is exempt 👍😉

Been wanting to get into using a Drone for a while now, but kept putting it off until I know I'll have the time and dedication to use it (hard enough finding time to get out using the DSLR).
Followed this thread and generally been thinking that once I make the plunge I'd go for a DJI Mini to get started.

Told the missus not to get one for me as a present for the above reasons..... Come Christmas Day, I open a present and its a Drone - HOLY STONE HS110G

She said she'd read up a little and that its better getting something like this as a "beginner" etc etc. Can't decide whether to send it back and look to put a few extra quid towards something a little better. If I'd caught that Argos offer on the DJI Mini on Boxing Day I'd have sent this back no problem.

What's the thoughts? Flight time is very short on this thing and doesn't have any obstacle avoidance sensors on it either.
Just been looking and its got some canny reviews and is £160 so will be ok. The thing is if you add another ton you will get a dji mini for £250 in the coming weeks, and you are getting a well proven, more importantly well supported drone. Personally id send it back and save the penny towards a dji.

Mind she probably be huffed sending her present back, you ungrateful bar steward.

Got the DJI Mini 2 with the flymore kit. Worth every penny. Since added Freewell ND Filters to it also for the cinematic footage.

Here’s one of the many snaps I’ve managed to get this year with it :)

Best advice register with CAA. Get operator AND flier ID.

If you get approached by the police it means you can say you are a CAA Licensed drone pilot and combined with a good attitude you will have no problems. Take the test of course - read the drone code and it’s easy.
cheers, just passed it.. Tried a quick test flight in the house, nearly cut my fecking finger off, blood all over the shop..

Did you grab it in the air?😳

Great pic mate.

I really want to get the mavic 3 cine but will probably get the flymore bundle instead but only when it comes bundled with the RC Pro

Ha Ha, given the fact that I'm having to package up and return virtually everything she got me I'm not being that ungrateful  :)

Reviews of the Holy Stone are good, but my gut instinct was to put the money towards a DJI Mini instead, especially if I can find one at the price that Argos did them at.

This works with weed growing....just plant a few and don't tell the police, the yield is totally unnafected.

Aha, RJX.... I follow you on Twitter. Some great stuff you put out mate (photography and drone wise).

She won't forget this mind.

But, you're doing the right thing. There will be some great deals coming up on the mini series drones.
Aye, 3yo made a grab for it, so I dived in.. grabbed hold of it and the motors went full blast, ate a bit of my left index finger 😬
Ouch😳

At least the bairns ok.😎

Same, but for over 4k for it all in. Mental price really.

phenomenal quality though. would have to be straight on to jobs that pay a lot. the drone videographer at work never uses his inspire 2 now even though the quality is amazing. carrying the big flight case over hills or driving it to cornwall and over rocky beaches isn't the best
Mavic mini at Argos

Not bad if you really really want a drone
