Craft Beer

Popped in the little shop today for the first time to pick up a few beers for my brother in law for xmas, will definitely be back for myself in future

Well someone's done it, I've steamed straight in with a 4.5
I have anarl. Wonder how long it takes to register cos it’s still at zero. I’m guessing you need a certain amount of check ins?

I’ve posted on a stout Facebook page so I’m guessing it’ll get a bit traction. Only people from Sunderland or people who’ve bought before will know about it. Their reach will be growing.

Try Blues in Whitburn mate. The Little Shop is great, but Blues is about 4/5 times the size.

Well had a few beers in the taproom with our lass and the bairn this afternoon, it was quiet but had some decent craic with Ethan and Les. Bit quiet, but well looked after again. Honestly the place is an absolute credit to the city.

And Les had a brew on. Place smelled fantastic 😎

I can see your two checkins. Might just join you :)

I popped in about 3pm for my 1899. We’re you there then? Did you have the dog that barked at me when I walked in?

Aye, we were In then. The people with dog were sat by the door. We were sat in front of the bar. Easy to recognise. The bairn has dyed green hair 😂
Wasn’t looking. Had a couple of minutes chat if they were going to keep the brew that was going then made an excited exit to try it. When I walked in the dog yapped & I shit myself then composed before walking to the bar Fonz like.

Currently supping a Polly's Plum & Cherry Imperial Gose, "Earth Past". (7%)

Very tasty.

I've really got into my sours recently. Love them.

Worked my way up from table beers, to session IPAs, IPAs and DIPAs before bailing out and having red wine and port

No stouts which was disappointing - making up for that tonight by finally cracking out the magnum of Cloudwater’s Persistence Is Utile

Don't drink often these days and was ruined by mid afternoon and needed a lie down. Had two cans of Lapsing into Heresy after bucks fizz at breakfast and wine with dinner. Checked after a nap and found it was 12.5%. School boy error.

You must have been canny pissed not to realise that was 12.5%! Must have a serious booze hit at that abv.

Had a couple of the older Brew York releases last night. Brownie Points & Flapjack Fika Fuel. Both spot on, but the Flapjack one was very sweet, a 440ml can was a bit too much.

Stick to old, just out of date Guinness’ through the day & had a 1899 later on.

Off to a cottage for a few days tomorrow. Going to pack 2/3 impys each night when the bairns are in bed. Nice relaxed drinking without getting pissed.

Cottage. No signal, 4g or Wi-Fi. I’m 4 cans into the Brew York Freaky Friday release. Done the 11%, 12%, 13% & 14%. I’m gutted, average at best & I love their stouts. Got the 15%er tonight, which is the Emperor Brewery colab. I’m hoping it saves the lot. Think I’ve gave them all 3.25 so far which was generous.

Not my thing, both in terms of strength and adjuncts in most of them iirc.

That Love Lane impy is OK mind, especially at £2.50 a can. Got another couple earlier.

It is like. I think it’s maybe just sent me further away from adjuncts to be honest. They can be great if done properly, but can also be shit if you’re trying to create a gimmick in a well designed can.

Had that Basqueland Banana & Toffee one too. It’s not terrible, but just too sweet. It does what it’s says on the tin like, so I can’t complain.

Empress Tonkoko is superb, it’s done right.

Think I’m finding my sweet spot of 8%/10% like. Don’t go daft with adjuncts

Gave the Emperor Brewery on a 4/5. Best of the lot, but at 15%, felt that the flavours would have come through if they knocked it down to 10%ish.

Big plus, I opened a can of Deya Closing Time Export Stout. It had something to do with the House of Trembling Madness too. It was class. Definitely worth picking one up if you see them knocking about.

Could be worse, in the Wessington drinking Worthingtons....
