Best the Mags have played all season by a country mile, yet they still fail to win and in the process have suffered injuries to their two most important players.

Just the 3 games in hand for Watford who are already 2 points ahead in 17th, and only 4 games in hand for Burnley who are level on points with a better goal difference by 16 goals.

Happy Christmas.
And their centre half holding his hamstring too

All the commentators going on about Newcastle being great but if they can’t beat that United side after that performance they’re gonna struggle in the next few games. For all asm’s tricks and flicks he has to score that chance. Without him and Wilson they’ll struggle.

That United performance was utterly abysmal. The tactics seemed to be to get all all the forwards and wingers plus the full backs pushed right up to the back line and pump balls at them. Varane and maguire getting the ball loads and only mctominay actively coming see for ball. The rest were pushed right up standing still. Then every counter Newcastle looked dangerous because of how many attacking players United had on the pitch. Things were bad under ole but that was just Sunday league stuff.

On paper a credible point. However given the mags put a serious shift in and played probably their best football this season…. and yet still only managed a point against a seriously poor Man U. I’d say they’re still certs for relegation. They’ll not play as well, nor put in as much effort in most of their games to come against better opposition and will get hammered in those games.
