Bikers of the smb

i put a tubular garden heater under mine to stop any condensation. if you're covering it use a breathable one. some folk use acf 50 to stop corrosion but i never bother. just took my batteries off as well and into the house.

What length and wattage is it? I don't think I've ever noticed condensation on the bikes but I might err on the side of caution and get one anyway.

without being there to measure they're about 4ft. i think it's because i spend a fair bit in there tinkering on. garage is well ventilated but i could go back in the next day and they were soaking. i had a bmw that went mouldy!

I sorn one in the winter and keep one taxed just in case we get some nice crisp winter days, scorned one (see what I did there) just covered and on the optimate and never had any bother, roll on spring time, winter spent planning rides for next year.
up there with the most fun a man can have with his trousers on for me.

I fitted a 4ft tubular shed/greenhouse heater in my garage yesterday, as you say it doesn't heat the garage but it keeps the bikes just a couple of degrees above the outside temperature so preventing condensation. Thanks for the tip. 👍

Tremors in the tunnel bike ride 31st December.

My mates just sent me this and weather permitting we are doing it new years eve. Seaham to seaton burn via the tyne tunnel which is getting closed off i think. Always wanted to hear my bike properly through the tunnel

Last ride of the year - Seaham to Seaton Burn crossing the River Wear over Northern Spire Bridge and the River Tyne through the tunnel.

Meet at Tommy in Seaham 1pm, quick confirmatory brief at 1:20 - kick stands up 1:30.

The route will follow the coast north, B1287 to the RAB then north on the A1018 to the next RAB and left onto Toll Bar Road and follow the road ahead B1405.
Turn left onto Paul Watson Way at the RAB with European Way, left at the lights to cross the bridge. Left onto the A1231 to the A19 and head north via Testos towards the tunnel.

Before the tunnel we will do a rolling re-group - pull into the Inspection Lane - when everyone is in, the staff will close the tunnel to general traffic and send us through - wear ear defenders !!! as we have it all to ourselves!!!!

Then straight up the A19 via the triple decker at Silverlink, Moore Farm RAB and Seaton Burn Services. It’s just over an an hour from the start and about 35 miles - no motorway so L and 125 friendly route

This is not a marshalled ride but we can use 2nd man drop off at main junctions.
It’s not gonna be a race so please just keep in the place you set off in - plenty of time in the season to open those throttles....
we will need to ride in a staggered formation, have enough fuel for the ride - and please check your machine to ensure it can cover the distance. Breakdowns will have to be self help so please check your cover and phone numbers.

Flags flying - lights flashing and enjoy the ride. More info? John 07447036109

that sounds canny, might just go.

I need some work done on my bike that I’m not confident in doing, any recommendations for a garage?

I was recommeded James Price in Seaham when I needed tyres, is he ok for work too?

Looking for valve/shim adjustment and timing chain tensioner replacement, and possibly swingarm bearing replacement.

I’ve used him and been fine. Probably 50% cheaper than M & S. not sure of many others. Burn garage maybe but don’t use them as looks a bit messy. (Not that it means anything)

You far from Blyth? I would recommend Darren from Newsham motorcycles.

How did this go mate? Did you go along?

Yes mate. It was always weather permitting but it was good. Cracking turnout he's my gopro. Doesn't do it justice unfortunately but you get the idea of roughly how many

Looked a Class run bud😎

i live two mins away from the tunnel but im a fair weather rider and sorn over the winter every year. Is that the vfr your on?

I liked to hit the kill switch, give it 2 big handfulls and then fire it back up BANG!

Until someone told me you can knack ya conrods!
Sadly Doesent work on a modern fuel injection bike. When you hit the kill switch now it kills the fuel and the spark. On old carb bikes it killed the spark, carb still throwing fuel in ready for the awaiting spark hence the bang.

Ooh the halycon days.😎
