I wish we could just cancel all cup games while we're in this hell hole of a league. Another key player injured. 5 goals shipped, not good for confidence.
Tbh i think we can take a lot of confidence from the game…..their first two goals were a shade fortunate….we competed well. Two great finishes to take the game away from us.

He’s had a really good game the ref
Thought Pepe fell over his own feet for their first mind. There was more contact on Stewart in the box, although neither should be fouls. Either way you'd want his linesman to help him out there. So far removed from the standard we've had in League One.

Our defenders are very decent L1 - just exposed at this level. We played some nice stuff overall, but our threat evaporated when Broadhead went off.

That's the worry now, as Stewart is far from the player he was - is he carrying an injury?

What you in about now man? You absolute joke.
What are you on about? Clearly you havent been a Sunderland supporter very long, or at all.... Anytime there is a kid making a debut, or someone wo hasnt scored for 15 games, or someone retiring... its always us who lets them score.

Clipped his own ankle for the free kick.

A couple of things that really stand out between our players and players at that level:

1. Their awareness and quick reactions to retain possession/win it back relentlessly.

2. They’re passing the ball to someone in the box, we are firing it across and hoping someone latches in to it.

Can’t fault the effort and the willingness to go and try to play. Concentrate on the league now.

Again I have to say it. I’m not being biased I’m genuinely staggered how intensely the commentators celebrated arsenal goals, hat tricks, debut goals, back heels in etc against an injury plagued league one club  calling it a special night for one of their players and a Christmas to remember for the HT hero. Ffs man:oops:
Yes the comments and commentary were extremely biased and one sided at their OTT praise for the Arse who they were so far up

It’s no excuse for not doing the basics right ffs. The lads done well it just went to fuck when he came on.
.. Aye, he should never play for a 3rd division team again cos he was out classed by a top 1st division player? .. You a mag, or just ten year old? ..

I’m happy with the result.
Looking at the teams in the semis it would of been even more embarrassing.
We are what we are - a very average, slow and physically weak team.
January needs serious investment by our new owner or we will remain in this league for another season .
