I wouldn’t put much faith in any of the sides around them getting points from their games in hand. They’re all down at the bottom for a reason, chances are games in hand for the other sides will be lost.

I’d love to see them relegated but all this talk of they need a miracle is just not true.
Three points adrift and a massive financial advantage over all their rivals in the transfer window.
But one of those games is Watford v Burnley...

Still amazed people think they've got a cat in hells chance of staying up, they're utterly doomed.

Everyone seems to agree that the only ace up their sleeve is buying players in January. The likelihood is, that won't be 1st January, that'll likely be mid or most likely the end of January. Then how long before they get their debut? Immediately? Or a couple of weeks to get set up properly at the club? Then they have to settle in, learn the system, potentially learn the language, all in a shite struggling team.

I'd say it'll be March before any new signings really start showing their worth to the team. By then they've got about 10 games left.

And let's not forget, any transfer is a massive gamble. We've seen so much shite through the door with large fees. Also they don't have a DOF or a proper scouting team, nobody who has the know how to spend what they now have the capacity to spend. They're fucked man.

People writing off Burnley as well. Dyche is an expert in these situations, the polar opposite to Howe. If either club stays up its Burnley.

The mags are going down. I've never been more sure of anything at this stage of the season before in my life. I'll run round St James naked with my arse painted red and white if they stay up. Feel free to bookmark, I think
There were many on here, although you may not have been one of them, who were totally certain we were down last season. Maja scored at Everton and we were doomed. Fewer games to play, more difficult fixtures and no goal scorer. As Maja had, it appeared, become a top level player whilst doing fuck all in France we were finished.
Didn’t quite work out like that.
There will be loads of twists and turns yet. Strange results, surprise wins and as almost always happens one of the clubs above will plummet. Still too many games to be certain.
If we get fewer that 10 points from the next 6 games, and Watford and/or Leeds pick up I would agree we are doomed.

Fair enough mate, excellent runs are possible. I've just never seen such a poor squad of players survive in the Premier league. Also Eddie Howe as the choice to save the team from relegation was a terrible choice.

I guess we will wait and see. But Im sticking with my belief that it's almost certain they will be relegated.

Thing is, this notion they are the richest club in the world may actually hamper them as every £20m player will immediately become a £50m one and they'll end up with a load of disparity with regards to wages in a squad who aren't exactly putting their bodies on the line as it is. I'm thinking more QPR than anything else

They won't attract good enough players in the next couple of transfer windows either. Especially not in January.

They have to abide by financial fair play (or whatever its called now) and since their earnings aren't in the same stratosphere as the big clubs in the league then they have very little to play with. Also, they will have banked on doing a Man City and cheating the system with a big sponsorship deal, but that has been pulled away from them as well by the other PL teams.

I'm glad it's being made difficult for them. Not for the Newcastle fans, for their murderous, despicable owners. That said, the mag fans will get what they deserve eventually I'm sure, since they've all lost every ounce of moral fibre by celebrating the arrival of these horrible fuckers into football.
