Aye so they can shove it up the corrupt PL.

You know, that same PL that passed a bid from a murdering, torturing regime who admitted to piracy....but paid it off so all good :)
That’s why there CoRruppTIon arguement is pants.
The biggest corruption was that the deal went through, so they can’t scream corruption when they don’t get a penalty 😀

The only players that will sign for them on a permanent basis in January are mercenaries who will probably have relegation clauses.
The others will be loan signings, who don’t really give a shiny shit whether they stop up or not.

They won’t get any players committed to a relegation battle, or to “loving the Toon“
A player who goes there on obscene wages will know they'll be labelled a money grabbing mercenary failure if the Mags go down. That's why if other teams are in for the same player then the player may choose to go elsewhere for a bit less money but a huge difference in expectation and reputation.

If they get an early marquee signing or 2 then others may follow but if not I think they will struggle to sign players. Especially if they keep getting knocked back on offers on players which will put doubt in future players minds they also go after. If they stay up then the summer may a different scenario but going down would again mean they wouldn't be signing the players they would like for another season.

Nicky Hammond is on the case marra.

If they weren't owned by the richest group in the world I'd agree, it's a completely different matter if they bring in a load of new players as the teams around them are as equally shite.
They may be the richest but that doesn't guarantee success, the teams around them will also be looking to improve their squads, albeit on a much reduced budget, but maybe with a bit of luck they will recruit the type of players to get them out of the shite.
