One win from safety? Aye, if they win 9-0. Ffs, they've won 1 all season, have failed to beat the other bottom 6 teams (Burnley excepted) home or away, have a horrendous g/d, a shit run in, have no worthwhile footballing set up, a manager who can't organise a defence, and are relying on Amanda f***ing Staveley to bring sufficient quality recruits in the most difficult transfer window to turn it round? Fuck off. And that's assuming, as some on here are, that the clubs around them are incapable of improving also? Double fuck off.
Have you been drinking?

Ipswich went down end of 94/95 season. And nufc still have 2 games to go, if they get played.

@OptaJoe: 79 - Newcastle have now conceded 79 goals in the Premier League during 2021; the joint-most by a team in the competition in a calendar year, along with Ipswich Town in 1994.

Not really - point being is that although they are currently shit, none of the bottom sides have beat them and so they can't be too far away from those sides in terms of quality. And with only a 3 point gap to safety and better players in January, I reckon they will easily stay up.

If you fail to beat 19 out of 20 teams in a league you are miles off in quality. They've been an utter shambles.

The problem they have is they are possibly the most unbalanced side there's been in the prem. They either defend and hope for a draw or attack and get beat. They've been incapable of taking a game to anyone and winning.

They now need to hope they are still 3 points (4 including goal difference) off Watford/Burnley after both sides have played a combined 5 games in hand between them (one of them being Watford v Burnley and they both can't lose). Watford have one of the top scorers in the league and battered some sides this season including Man U before Sarr got injured and they also have to hope the other sides around them don't strengthen as well.

But despite that shitness, 9 teams failed to beat them. I just think out of those 9 and the money they will spend, they will manage to overhaul two other teams that are incapable of beating Bruce's side.

Who are Burnley and Watfords games in hand?

One of them is Burnley v Watford. I'm sure you can google the others.

How much money do you think they will spend?

Watch it finish nil nil.

No idea on how much they will spend but they are loaded and I think they will spend more than they originally planned too in January.

Going down will set them back and I think they will spend big to avoid it. From the few times I've seen them the defence would be where I'd be looking to strengthen.

To stay up you have to win a few games against top 8 clubs. You always see a club get a few surprise wins. I can’t see where it is going to come from with the mags.

They are really bad, they cannot defend and the are poor going forward and the midfield is non existent. The goalkeeper is decent.

They've also only managed to win 1 against the bottom 10.

Owt could still happen but these are the games they've got left now. The green are home games and the red are away and it's got a quick daft example of the points that you'd expect them to be happy with at the bare minimum.

As you see it gives them 25 points so that would give them 35 points which could be enough this season like it was for the last 5 seasons. Even low 30's may be enough this season, just like last. They could even get more points as some of those 1's could be 3's if they get some decent players in and they may get a spawny point or 2 from the top 7 teams. The teams that will be in the relegation mix this season with the Mags are Norwich, Burnley, Watford, Southampton and Leeds though I think Leeds will come good when they get players back. The mags need to be getting 3 at home and avoid defeat away at the least. It certainly isn't over just yet for them yet as there's a long way to go and we all know our history of avoiding relegation even though we looked doomed.
