It is looking more and more likely.

Tbf I don't remember the players you signing having the quality of Trippier or Dzeko.

Probably not you’re right

But just the pattern of players on their way down rather than at their peak / on their way up

Players like lescott, pienaar and nzogbia who the instant reaction was “ooh they’re a canny good player” then they turn up uninterested and unfit

Defoe was alright 🤷🏻

It was the quality of player, not their age.

They need to stay up so could 'afford' to hoy a few £5m a year contracts around on the basis they stay up. It will still be hard to attract all the players they'd like but some will come. If they stay up then it's £10's of millions saved in revenue even though they have hoyed money at players. Next season other players will want a sniff of the money though the 'north' premium may not be as high given they've stayed up. If they go down then it will be another year to get back up and even if they did come up then it would be harder to attract players again.

Also any players joining now will clearly be doing it for the money given they don't know if they're going to stay up and could be playing in the Championship next season. Also in the back of the players minds will be the fact that if they join January and still go down then they will be labelled money grabbing mercenary failures so who would want them at other clubs?

Like I said earlier about the Lingard example, is it really worth that extra £2m over 4 years on top of his multi millions he's got already (his last 4 year basic contract being at least £15m). There's also the fact he'd have to uproot to a different area with a lot less 'attractions' and multi millionaires to socialise with and all to run the risk of being labelled a money grabbing mercenary failure? He would see any of that as an issue as possibly going to West Ham who are already in Europe, sniffing about European places and in London isn't something way more attractive?
I’d agree. But a lot of these players are motivated only by greed. Money isn’t everything to them, it’s the only thing. Working for murderers and child killers won’t worry them as much as living in Newcastle will.
😄 I'm glad I live to the south
Thankfully there’s not much wind, and what there is is blowing out to sea. Poor Denmark.
I think it would have been called off by now
Aye, I reckon so mate. I hope they get brayed all owwer.

Aye but how greedy can an already multi millionaire be? He'll have millions stashed/invested all while living the high life with all the material things most people dream of. Lingard could retire tomorrow and probably keep living the good life within reason so he's not exactly needing money now.

He can go to West Ham and get £80k a week over say 3 years so that's another £12.5m in his coffers and more from possible bonuses given their European exploits. Or he could come up to the Mags who have to pay a premium so say £100k which is £15.5m over the 3 years. He'd be about £3m better off, so less than £2m after tax over 3 years.

This is the point I'm making, even if he's 'greedy' he doesn't need that extra sub £2m on top of his multi millions, especially when you look at what he'd have to give up and risk to get it then I'm pretty sure he'd say fuck that

David Beckham just signed a deal for £150 million to be the face of the qatar World Cup. It’s a good question, when is enough enough? Seemingly never with some of them.
I heard he used to get up in the morning at ten o clock at night, half an hour before he went to bed. And work 29 hours a day and pay them for the privilege of going to work there.
But only the mags would believe that.
🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The Mags were hovering around 20's the last few days after the Man City v Leeds game but the odds have just shifted to up to nearer 25's just recently. I'm guessing something has leaked about the game and it could be be that ASM isn't starting.
