Interesting article about the first Saudi film festival in the Guardian, apologies can't do links.

Basically, an attempt to whitewash human rights issues and get good publicity, without the bother of actually addressing the appalling human rights abuses.

This scenario definitely rings a bell.
I read the article, not many of the do-gooder actors turning down the chance of money and publicity by speaking out or not attending. The PR machine for saudi arabia is in full swing, football, F1, film, new cities being built. It's a widespread attempt to swamp the world while ignoring their human rights abuses and atrocities against Children in Yemen

For those who think Newcastle can still stay up, they are they are the only team in the league who have yet to play either Liverpool or Man City home or away. They have played 4 of the other 5 teams in the bottom 6 at home already and have still to play 4 of them away.

They also still have to go to West Ham, Spurs and Chelsea.

18% of their remaining fixtures are against either Liverpool or Man City.
So not as bad, on paper, as you lot under Di Canio.

Any decision which makes a club and supporters who sold their souls for blood money from a despot regime out of pure greed suffer is fine by me !
Can’t see any other supporters shedding any tears for Mercenary Utd
And those supporters who didn’t?
I was not suggesting we should have sympathy. That decision was a joke.

On paper we should have never beat you away. As it was it was 0-3 walk in the park.

Let's face it Howe is an awful appointment. He speaks well and that's about it.

Going from trying to appoint Emery to lowering your sights as far down as Howe is an enormous drop in both pedigree and quality. A staggeringly stupid drop.

They have decent attacking options and needed someone to shore up the defence and stop conceding goals.
So they employed a manager whose teams shipped over 60 goals a season in the prem.

Now they're surprised at how they are playing:
