F1 2021

They did with Schumacher in 1997
That was more symbolic than anything, as his shithousery hadn't worked and nobody really gave a shit about 2nd place. If he'd managed to put JV out and actually won it, that would have been a much braver decision to make, a Senna Prost Ballestre 1989 kind of decision and all the ramifications of that.

That said, Senna Prost 1990 will never be allowed to happen again. I still can't believe Senna got away with it.

Much as I dislike them, I don't even think Horner and Verstappen would stoop to deliberate acts like that. Verstappen drives people off the road routinely but at least believes in his world that "it's racing".

I tend to agree. Max hasn't done anything quite as obvious as that one Rosberg pulled that time. Not yet, anyway.

Rings a bell, but struggling to find it. It was a shocker mind. Only way he got away with it was because you obviously don't protest your own team!

hahaha, its absolutely shocking
It was Austria, he ended up damaging his own car, so Lewis won whilst he finished in 4th.

Just seen a lap of the circuit by the safety car. Looks a lot tighter than I originally thought, qualifying is going to be absolutely critical as overtaking looks limited. Not be much chance for anyone to take off from the front as I imagine there’ll be multiple safety cars bunching them back up

im not watching this weekend as feel a bit hypocritical watching a sports washing exercise in a formula 1 race and then saying Newcastle are a disgrace,
I'm not watching it on any system they can track and/or make any money from.
And I'm not going to interact with any official F1 or Sky social media this weekend.
If that helps?

What a proper statement it would be if Hamilton refused to participate in the race...

Still, he's wearing s rainbow helmet..

If I felt as strongly as he claims.

Then I would refuse to participate.

F1 needs Hamilton more than he needs them.
How strongly does he claim? I’d say he’s always used his platform and position to highlight issues. This gets worldwide coverage.

I always find it strange how those screaming loudest about the supposed cancel culture seem to be high in the queue to cancel things themselves when it happens to cut across their views.

“Hamilton is a tax dodger for living in Switzerland”

Compared with

“Well of course Lando has to live in Monaco. He’s protecting his finances”

Can’t imagine why there’s a difference.
