What old news story repeatedly pops into your mind now and again

I remember seeing a documentary when I was about 9 about a young kid who was put onto death row for a murder that he maintained he was innocent of committing, but the system just kept rolling forwards. It showed right until his last day and then told that the sentence had been carried out. The last graphic said that not long after, someone came forward with information that proved his innocence.
Devastated me then, and I still think about it to this day.
The Manchester Arena bombing..the young lass from South Shields was in my Nieces performance group.
I met the families of Liam and Chloe at a concert in aid of the Liam and Chloe Together Forever charity I did with a brass band that I play with, and a choir I conduct. Such a privilege to do this, but harrowing to think what these poor people went through, and are still undoubtedly going through. I felt so helpless when I met them.

The Warrington Bomb. Jonathan Ball and Tim Parry killed only 3 and 12 years old. Never forgot their names or faces all these years later ☹️ .
The song zombie by the cranberries is about that incident ,

The parents of the boys have been remarkable through it all

Some reports say it happened over Lockerbie as the plane departed late, they wanted it to go off over the sea to ensure no evidence could be found or to make it as difficult as possible to find. I can still remember the newsflash when it happened. Was only about 9 year old. Awful. A few weeks later after Xmas the Kegworth accident happened.
I worked in Annan in 1990..there was a few lads in the factory from Lockerbie..to hear about it from them was unreal like.

The performance group they were in put shows on every now and then..the last few I’ve been to they’ve kept two seats empty in memory of Liam and Chloe..nice touch.

It doesn't bear thinking about what those on the ground went through when it impacted, I've just read this from the back of this thread and the locals, as well as police, couldn't have been more stoic and afterwards helped the families of those killed immensely.
