"Happy Black Friday Eve"

Radio and TV presenters “Happy Tuesday” or whatever the day of the week it happens to be. Just fuck off will you.
Happy Hallowe’en is another one. The point of it in modern society is to be scared within agreed societal limits, not to be happy.
Happy Christmas. I always thought it was Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I got that one from Trading Places.
Happy Easter - not for Jesus it wasn’t. In fact I reckon he was rather cross about it.
Aaaaaand relax.
Happy Hallowe'en ladies.....nuns...no sense of humour. (Kurgan, 1985)

What's the crack with this like? I've got a couple of things on pricespy I've been looking out for on the cheap. Do people just end up buying stuff they don't want or need because it's reduced?

It's an American thing. They go out and fight each other trying to buy cut price stuff, the day after they have a celebration of thankfulness for the stuff they already have.

Another American idea we are too feeble minded to ignore.

It’s a DFS sale for the masses.

“75 percent off tat you don’t need or want.”

Isn't thanksgiving to celebrate getting into fight to get a cut price country?

Total? No
Lots of lies about price cuts? Yes.

I've saved quite a bit over the years buying things I'm going to buy anyway. I expect that if I can't get a good price on BF, I'm probably not going to do any better by waiting.
Just saved about £20 on 2 items that have been the same price every time I've checked.

And a whisky which I hadn't planned buying but was around £15 cheaper than everywhere else. However, that was because of this place and can't turn down a good whisky deal.
