Are you happy? Is your life going well?

I used to take so many 400g ibuprofen I rattled, my doctor shat a brick when I told her, I had to cut them out completely for a while and now only take them for that time of the month and really bad hangovers

I've got it coming in my right shoulder and left hand and left knee, when I took on the damage I remember people saying at least it wasn't my right hand but I played violin so left hand and right shoulder is a complete shitter

still, as you say, there is always booze
I'm crippled currently. Sij. Knee. Both ankles. All toes and my neck is playing up with the cold. I'm 41 and have to roll out of bed and peel myself off the floor.

Got a job interview tomorrow at Fujifilm, the money's way way more than I'm on but I've never done shift work before. I think I've got a pretty good chance of getting it but it leaves me with a pretty big decision. I'm comfortable where I'm at, get on with everyone and good at the job on a cushy shift, but pay is poor.

I struggle a bit with new people, so the prospect of moving into a different job in a new environment is a bit daunting for me. But on the flip side, I see my mates going out all the time or booking holidays and stuff and I simply can't afford to, feels like life is passing me by. If I get this job the massive financial boost would improve my life greatly and help me save up a house deposit way quicker.

I might feel different at some point but not convinced this is the home I’d be in for a long time.
Some people move quite often. I think I was extremely fortunate to get lucky at an early age and got the house I wanted.

That is awful. I’m going to count my blessings.

Go for it mate. Best of luck tommorow.

Found a cream cake in a bin today that only had one bite out of it. Other than that it was unspoiled. Things are going great
But was it a mouse/rat/human or Anaconda bite.
I'm not sure cream cakes are good for Anacondas.

And what does that last bit mean ?

Edit. My life ? Not bad just now. My team are a bit naff, but you can't have everything.

you could go for the job, get it, then go to your current job and see if they make a counter offer?

I did that, but it wasn't a bluff really, I'd have gone I think, it was a 40% pay rise which I just couldn't turn down on account of my family obligations but my job countered with a 30% payrise and so I stayed as I really do have it so down I barely have to do anything and whereas that would usually be my nightmare, right now for the next year maybe it is probably about right

Things were going great then the pandemic happened. I didn't work for 9 months, spent every penny I had then had to take out a 17 grand loan to my pay my mortgage and bills. This was in addition to paying a family lawyer to negotiate the sale of my flat with my ex. My outgoings were eye watering. Since work picked back up and working from home has become the norm I've more than tripled my salary, paid off the loan and sold my flat for a tidy profit. I always land on my feet.
TGTBT.

That's the current plan, one of my work mates is actually in the same group interview tomorrow as me, there's about 20 roles to go for so we're both fairly confident of getting them. We're a small company on the verge of a growth period in the new year, but our team only has 6 staff....so we're kind of hoping the threat of the 2 most experienced people leaving will force their hand for a big payrise.

give yourself a bit time as the roads are being dug up all around there and there's diversions in place. if you already know i'll mind my own business :)
Cheers, I'm on a half day at work and it's about 10mins down the road so I've got plenty time to prepare.

I can barely put my shoes on currently. Have ankolysing spondylitis. It'll pass hut currently with the change in humidity and temperature its not amazing

Muddling through.

Was disappointed that holidays abroad were cancelled again but we went to Orkney instead and I absolutely loved it.

Been a bad year for health. Was borderline being hospitalised with a crohns flare earlier in the year and it's taken a long time to settle it down and I've been diagnosed with arthritis and PTSD. Just got to concentrate on getting myself better.

Had a load of plans for stuff I wanted to do at home, but due to the above, I never really got much of my list done apart from a decent amount of work in the garden. It was pretty much a playground that the bairns have outgrown. Got rid of the play equipment, got someone to replace a fence that's been leaning for a couple of years, painted said fence, filled in the bark pit with topsoil, laid turf and planted a border. If I start thinking negative things about not doing my list, I look at the work in the garden and remind myself I did canny considering the health issues above.

Things are going well at the moment.

I got my lump sum from ex work pension just after the mortgage was cleared. Reduced my working week to 3 days, no weekends and no bank holidays.
The wife loves her job on an increased salary and is getting bonus every month.
Going away for Christmas and holidays booked for next year.
Kids have left home and are happy.

In a good place at the moment, but know it can change at any time, so enjoying it while I can!
