Is Makaba any good? Can't say I've paid much attention to that division since Bellew and Usyk left

Imagine he wins.....Fury v Canelo 2023
I’ve got no idea about the quality of opponent and haven’t watched any of them but he’s won 9 on the trot since that bellew loss.

Online consensus seems to be he's the weakest of the belt holders, just like Kovalev was at the time, 25ko from 28 wins suggests he has a punch

WBC have some special hatred for Dillian Whyte mind.

Approaching 4 years as mandatory challenger, god knows how long as Interim and they're still messing him about.

He got sparked out, clean and brutal so not continuous no matter what spin eddie and whyte put on it, good job they had the rematch or he was Knackered. That’s just a fact.
He mandatory position got interrupted , however he done well to get it back, I’ll give him that.

And I’ll say it again, he didn’t back himself against AJ for the 3 belts. The moaning falls On Deaf ears with me.

(Not saying he doesn’t deserve a chance still, just putting my perspective on it )

Aye it's a bit of a mix for me as well.

I don't blame him regarding the AJ situation considering what he offered, but in that time he's lost pretty brutally (albeit avenged the loss) and beat Rivas after being popped and failing to disclose it to Rivas in that time . He should've had his shot by now mind, but I don't think there's a big conspiracy against Whyte, although that might change if they don't force the Fury fight.

I can understand Canelo's decision. Occurred to me the other day, what more is there for him in and aroudn MW? Not much.

Not sure there's many names at LW or CW now though? Neither are divisions I've paid much attention to, and as we know the real star has alread moved to HW.

Lightheavys and cruiser are both pretty decent at the minute. Beterbiev is a beast.

It's more a case of chasing the easiest (term used lightly given the considerable weight jump) belt at another weight class imo. It's entertaining, but I'm not a big fan of seeing people pick up world titles in a division when they likely won't chase the best at that division

True. He already did that at LHW didn't he? Then dropped that belt afterwards.

All part of the "Legacy" stuff isn't it?
