Whisky

Hakushu. Hoping to get to the distillery on my next Japan visit.
.
White Peaks Distillery first release is available for pre-order if anyone is bothered. £70 inc. postage for a 3 year old whisky though…..

Looks like the 21yo is landing in the next 2-3 weeks alongside a 10 and 15. There'll also be a Kilkerran Heavily Peated, Hazelburn 10 and NAS Longrow.
Still haven't fired open the 10 or the 15 I got from the last releases, nor my KK heavily peated come to mention it...

Did you get round to opening anything other than the Longrow 18?

Also, if you hear owt else regards that release of the 21... 😉👍

I’m still not drinking much whisky at the moment so haven’t opened much recently. I did crack a Deanston hand fill from 2013 which isn’t bad with a deep Mortlach meatiness but after a while the sherry gets too much.

I'm the same mate, not drinking much of anything not just whisky. Best thing about it is it doesn't go off I suppose

The shops outside of Campbeltown still do. It’s just an opinion, but I believe they wanted more footfall in the distillery shop (and the new washback bar), so separated them in Campbeltown.
Makes sense like I suppose. Mind I still can't believe they don't do a drivers dram at that washback bar, missing out on a fortune I'd say

I suspect many also think Cadenheads in Campbeltown don’t sell the Glengyle stuff either. I was there a couple of months ago and picked up a couple of bottles of the last Kilkerran CS batch without problem when nobody else had it. Interestingly though, it wasn’t on display but I asked and they brought me a couple of bottles from the back - Not sure if that was deliberate policy or not?

Not sure, but springbank still had that in their shop last time I was in which was only a month or two ago as well

I popped into the Springbank shop as well that trip and got stuck behind a German lad who just seemed to be adding random bottles of everything whilst the lad was trying to cash up his order :) His bill was a shade over £8 grand.
Ouch. When I was in the Cadenheads shop in June I saw a Chinese bloke leaving with a box of 12 and thought he had a good spend but then he was followed by a member of staff similarly laden heading for the Beemer outside.

When we were at Glenfarclas in July there was a woman buying a few family cask bottles ( I was nebbing) she wanted a bottle from the year of birth of her son…was an early 80’s bottle at £3k plus, but then said she’d better get an equivalent bottle for her daughter who would be left out even though “ she doesn’t like whisky”

She then bought a fair few other “ cheaper” bottles
