Shameful behaviour from *some* of our fans today

Tbh the whole of the silence was a bit of a cock up. It was poorly organised by Rotherham. They included an applause for a former director and it all got mixed up. The lass played the last post and the whole of the ground started to applaud again, not fall silent.

Fair enough if it was but i could only here people shouting haway the lads on my stream while there was silence in the ground. If the same happened up here we would be going apeshit

What you heard was right, but it was more during the last post. Aye, we would be going mad. Not disagreeing with you just adding some perspective to what you heard.

I’ve never thought it before really but the last couple of years (including before lockdown) in this league it’s all started to be a bit of a throwback.

There’s a really noticeable new element/generation coming through that are adding an edge and just generally carrying on like bellends. It’s not what SAFC is for me and it’s sad to see.

I know I’ll get called a fanny for this but fuck it.
I was regular in the 2000s (MicMac and Keano eras in particular), then due to leaving the country it became very sporadic for a few years, with a gap of a few years in the end. This season due to being back in the country for a bit, I've taken in a fair few SAFC games recently, and I have personally noticed that there is a scummy element that is a lot more prevalent than it was back then, including a pair of drunken scratter behind me at Pompey, who (among other things) called a Pompey player a 'black c*nt. I was pretty shocked tbh. And tell me to f**k off all you like, but I love this club and the fanbase, and it really disappoints me to see these knob heads giving us a bad name.

Probably the same clientele who would pull up their own fans if they did do that.

Rather than just accepting it as inevitable!,
No one has accepted coin throwing as inevitable- that’s you twisting g words for some bizarre reason
It’s inevitable that you’ll get aresholes acting up in a large away support

I don’t get that mate, as that player who did that is not outside the ground
Just in terms of winding people up. Makes people more angry and then they feel the need to release that anger somewhere. It’s no excuse for starting on innocent people like.
Not really got owt to do with being in League One, that happens in every league.
Yeah it just seems to happen more as we have a decent sized following. Might be a biased view but despite being down here for a while we still seem to be seen as a bit of a scalp.

Was gonna post that as a "group" of away "supporters" we were shite -
1) Late comers making a racket through the bugle & minutes silence
2) Whining at every misplaced pass
3) Arriving well after kick off, Christ it says 3pm kick off on the ticket, surely you should be around the turnstiles by 2.40
4) Leaving early, part of any sport is getting an occasional twatting, stay and support!
5) We do not want coin throwers there, no excuse, we'll get reduced allocations & innocent SAFC supporters will get caught in the crossfire

Sort it out and stop it!!
For 1 & 3 you've got to blame Rotherham and their Gestapo for this. A very unwelcoming presence of Security/Police at the train station and after being told where to walk and no pubs for our fans at all

We couldn’t stay quiet for Bertie Mee,John Charles and Keith Weller.Today didn’t surprise me.

No justification for hitting a little lass with a coin, but did anyone notice after maybe the 3rd goal one Rotherham player ran straight to our fans to goad them? It’s not the first time it’s happened in this league. Why do that? Surely you’d want to celebrate with your own players and fans. The rest of the team went towards the side stand. All it does is wind people up, but the players know they’re protected and it’s unlikely a fan would get on and shut them up, so ultimately the bad feeling can spill over to outside the ground. I’m sick of this shit league now.

He's from Newcastle.

Football attracts absolute knuckle heads unfortunately and I’d say it’s pretty much every team, tho would love someone to correct me, just going and sitting recently in our so called family zone, inappropriate songs and adults swearing constantly around small kids seems par for the course

Horrible bloke next to us. He spent more time yelling peado stuff at Rotherham fans than actually watching the football.

Why he thought it appropriate behavior to lean over a young girl while screaming "get your tits out for your Dad" at other men is beyond me 🙄

Forgive my ignorance but only heard of John Charles and that's because of Red Dwarf. I'm being facetious by the way

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this but commentator Nick Barnes said in his pre-match comments that 5 of our supporters coaches were stuck in traffic on the M18 and may miss the kick off. That might account for why so many fans got there late.
