Craft Beer

Bought a couple of Norse Star III from Morrison’s today. Black Forest Stout or sumat. Didn’t expect much, cos the title sounds fruity, I dinnit like fruit in me beer. However, pleasantly surprised. The fruity Black Forest bit gives it a bit bitterness. Norse Star II is still my favourite out of the series like.
There was a Black Forest imperial stout from Cloudwater last year which was superb. Quite fancy the one that Northern Monk are releasing this weekend.

Got a keg of that Tartarus Abaddon, probably the most expensive uk keg we’ve ever bought!

I’ll be losing my Tartus virginity with this like. Looking forward to it
Had the Tiny Rebel 18%er a few weeks ago. Superhero or sumat. Was good. Think the De Moestrual I had was 17% too. It was decent, but not as good as I’d built up in my head that it'd be

I had a proper geeky Saturday last weekend. Brewery tour and beer tasting at Pretty Decent, then a Belgian sour tasting at Solvay Society.

The former in particular was brilliant, 2hrs tour (given that it's the size of a large shed that was quite impressive) while trying 5 of their beers, only cost 15 quid. Everyone else had cancelled as well so it was a private tour just for me and our lass.

Booked for Pillars' 5th birthday this weekend so I'll be drinking my weight in lager, can't wait. They're launching their Eisbock too so it'll be interesting to try that one, pretty unique in this country, maybe the only brewery who do one - probably for good reason like.
