Drinking in Sunderland City Centre - restored

Think they are cleaning up the outside, ready for a repainting. Still waiting for them to put in the glass in the front extension.

thought it was something like that.
I always had it in my head that Chaplins was a bit ropey but it looks decent.
I then wander past Sinatra’s and realised I was mixing it up with there. 2 American famous surnames confused me no end.

Is Sunderland City Centre dead now on a weekend? It's been several years since I last had a proper night out in Sunderland but it used to be bouncing.

Completely deed on a Friday, you'll be lucky to find more than 20 people in 1 place.

picking up rapidly on a Saturday though... Rabbit, Ttonic and Glitterball were absolutely bouncing last Saturday mind, shame it's just a Saturday

It’s too expensive now for it to be busy on a fri sat sun as it would be 20 year back , nice to see it picking up a bit on a Saturday

I’m working in Sunderland for first time and I’ve hit you say I’m impressed with what’s going on.
Decent pubs ( peacock, isis, sun cow )
Food, Proven, Mexico 70, spent grain

The stuff around fire station, keel sq, city hall, pop recs, new bridge, train station and just what I know.

I think it’s an exciting time for the city and there’s definitely a scene and spirit evolving.
Have they fixed the weather?

Fridays were my favourite night out when I was 18-19 (2002). Few pubs would do 3 bottles of shite lager for a fiver and I wasn't picky back then. Tenner into Pzazz with unlimited cheap bottles of lager included in the price. Great at the time.

If only I was young enough to frequent such places
Baffles me how Ttonic has been so popular for the best part of 20 years. Always been crap but probably the busiest bar in town other than the Cooper Rose.
Was in town last night and saw a bouncer in one bar dealing what I presume was drugs , bellend
I know of about half a dozen bouncers who sell coke in town. My brother has upset all of them the bellend.

Been done several times for selling knock off drink as well, somebody's pulling strings as they should have had their license revoked by now.
