Craft Beer

Had the Madagaska vannila stout from Lidl last night, quite nice.
I wimped out and only bought one can of the Lush Lane 10% stout to have watching the match and wish I'd bought more. That was superb
Mission accomplished. I’ve bought 4 Love Lanes & left 4 on the shelf. Glad to hear it was good like.

Looking at me calendar, unless I have one next Saturday night, I might not get to drink them anytime soon.

Bought 4 Madagaska Vanilla Stouts for good measure too. The lower ABV vanilla ones I’ve had before have tasted very synthetic, but I’ll give it a bash.
Pelaw lidl has that in…
That’s where I went marra. Cheers for the heads up.

Every time I try something different I get disappointed I just didn’t get a new stout

I’ll pop in for that Alpha Delta like. Don’t think I’ve ever had owt by them.

A little experimenting does no harm but when you're as into one particular style as you it does seem pretty pointless.

Alpha Delta do a few stouts, pop into Centrale if you're in Newcastle, he stocks them.

Reet, it’s Friday, the bairn is 2 tomorrow, so I’ll have to be up at about 5:30am doing the excited dad thing, but I’m building his balance bike when he goes to bed tonight.

That opening is all just an excuse to say I’ve hoyed three Omnipollo in the fridge for a small slurp tonight while I’m building it.

Got Anagram (Blueberry Cheesecake Stout) collab with Dugges, BA Mam Mut, Coconut, Vanilla, Hazelnut Impy Stout (not sure what barrel it is like) & a Lorelei, Coconut Maple Toast. All new to me so I’ll be Untapping it up. Going to pop to Blues after work cos they’ve got a Goatsmoker stout in that I want to try. I’m promising myself I’ll buy 2/3 cans max.

Happy Friday fuckers.

It’s craft beer calling at the wylam brewery this weekend, anyone got tickets? I’m there tonight, whilst not exactly ‘craft’ I’m hoping they’ve still got that German bar out the back… in years gone by the lad who organises it would drive over to Düsseldorf for some altbier.

Had goatsmoker on Wednesday as part of a sharing session, really liked it and I’m not usually a fan of smoked beers.

I’ll leave a review. Might smashed it into my face tonight. Intend to drink that Lidl impy tomorrow too.

I had a can of Madagaska the other night, it was quite nice but just lacked something, not sure what. Got a couple can of Lush Lane chilling so might try them tonight, depending whether my heed has recovered from last night. Any one living down Reading way, make the effort to try out the Phantom Brewing Taproom. The flight of beers was excellent, but my favourite was Not My First Rodeo, a NEIPA collab with Full Circle Brewing Co in Newcastle.

Phantom did a collab with Vaux as well for that raspberry sour. Reading looks like brilliant place for craft beer actually, I might have to dodge through at some point for a day out.

I had my first can of supermarket beer in absolutely ages last night. Faith in Futures DDH IPA from Northern Monk. Citra and El Dorado. Thought it was excellent, comfortably the best supermarket IPA I've tasted.

Eyeing up more cask today. Place near me has got a Deya porter on so I might have to give that a go...

They had cans of the raspberry sour, but didn’t fancy one last night. I need to get back there ASAP, I didn’t touch the surface of given the number of beers on offer.

Still haven't got the 10% one, that ship may now have sailed for me.

The Madagaska is passable, flavours are OK, maybe a little artificial but it's just too thin and quite carbonated to be anything special

Picked up a BA HYG today, spur of the moment buy as Port Bierhaus only had one left. At a tenner, it may be my new record spend. Hope its not ridiculously nutty...

Just opened the Love Lane impy. Excellent. Straight forward no nonsense with a bit of sweetness. Im
Buying every one on the shelf if there’s any left. At £2.50 it’s a steal.

I can’t comprehend how they manage to do that beer for £2.50…

VAT = 32p
Alcohol Duty = 79p

£1.39 to make the beer, package it, distribute it and sell it…mental. You’d think the ingredients for an impy would be more than that.
