Craft Beer

Snoochie Boochies, as mentioned. Need to try VPA also!

Do well to find VPA, it was quite a small batch. Freddys Drop is very good though, and Snoochie was excellent as well.

Les is still learning the kit but if the recent stuff is anything to go by the future is looking good. The latest beers are as good as anything I've had by the likes of Two by Two, and even Full Circle, Almasty etc.

If they can even just maintain this standard I'll be happy.

Be nice if they could get some of the new stuff canned.

Lidl "beer festival" this week starting today.
They didn't have any Joker IPA in ours yet (booo) so I picked up some Stewart Brewing Company NEIPA.
I've not been disappointed by their work so far

Aye it definitely seems to be going in the right direction. I am looking forward to them sorting the homebrewers club out that they mentioned in one of the lockdowns.
Love Freddy's Drop, really liking NZ hoppy beers at the moment.

I've only ever been disappointed by them. No point buying these Lidl craft tins imo, 90% of the time they're drain pours. I have quite high standards like I'll admit - I don't know how anyone can go from the Good Shit to this and not find it undrinkable.

That said, because it's very to see the style in these, I'd be interested to see if this impy stout is any good. At 2.50 a can they must be making a loss on it. Ridiculous price.

Depends on how much the good shit is. Chances are some of these breweries are either making a loss or a small profit but for them it gets them in places like ALDI and LIDL and from there people might then buy direct from them.

They will be breaking even at best selling a 10% beer for 2.50. Most likely losing money.

I don't think your typical Lidl customer will go from drinking cheap subsidised craft beer to buying 5er cans direct. I can only assume Lidl do them a decent deal and they use this as a loss leader on a small run.

Probably. There's not a lot of it when it's their "Beer festival" generally. I just hope I get some Double Joker or Joker IPA this time around.

10% stout gone already, got a couple of the 5% vanilla stout, and two other new ones, against my better judgement. I don't even get the FOMO now as the last few I've had have been average at best. Drygate, Stewart, Loch Lomond, Williams, 90% ordinary stuff I wouldn't buy again.

I did get a couple March of the Penguins though, a nice straight up stout.

Called in on the way home, loads of the 10% stout left. Got a few of the others as well, had a couple of them before and they were canny.
