Children/Travelling

Right either I’m just a bit thick (go on) or the guidelines aren’t very clear. Looking to fly to Spain in the near future with my two kids. Youngest is fourteen. What’s the score with vaccine certificates etc, does he need a PCR test? He’s had his covid jab by the way. The Gov.uk website is a bit muggy re terms and everywhere I look online doesn’t seem to give a definitive answer. I’m sure some of you on here have flown with your young uns recently so help me out chaps!

Leave them with a trusted adult and have more fun

If either is old enough to get a jab, I suspect they may expect them to have one before traveling.

Ask whoever you are flying with their rules as every airline is different.

I’m flying to Spain tomorrow. If you’re double jabbed, you just need your digital vaccine cert, same for kids. If they aren’t jabbed then they need a pcr test and then another 2 days after returning.

I think

The wife has looked into it and reckons the proof of vaccination doesn’t show on the 14 year old’s NHS app. What a palava
"Ooh, look at me, I've got two kids and can still afford to go abroad with them!" Sickening...
I haven’t been away for over a year man… ;)

The OP surely hasn’t fathered kids. I thought he was 12 or summit after reading some of his/her posts - well you learn summit everyday on here

You can ask the NHS to send you a proof of vaccination letter
Apparently you can’t for someone under 16 (according to the wife). Surely I’m not the only one on here who’s going to another country with their kid(s)?

Whee’s this whopper/plastic surgeon?

under 18s can only get 1 jab so dont qualify for the proof of vaccination as thats a double jab. my daughter is 17 and going to spain in a couple of weeks and was getting the PCR test sorted even though she's had the jab, but shapps has i think changed it to a lateral flow test today? i've not read up on how its changing yet.

Yeah we’ve sorted a PCR for the youngest, what a con.
