Get in the queue matey! She's sensational
Where’s the Hoult love in come from I’ve seen a few mention him
Malik looked like he was channelling Donald Sutherland as Oddball in Kelly’s Heroes. I was half expecting him to suddenly go “woof woof woof! That’s my other dog impression!”
Fair comments about Moneypenny and Q but at least they’ve been given more to do than the usual flirtatious banter outside M’s office and stern demonstration of the gadgets in this series.
When I saw Q’s cat I immediately thought they were having a laugh with us and it’s really Dr. Evil’s Mister Bigglesworth. You never can tell since they nicked the sub plot of Spectre from Austin Powers. “You know they come with fur now!” Good line for Bond. I don’t really go in for the smart arse comments. People who grew up with the Moore era think they’re integral to the series but it’s not supposed to be a comedy. They get it much more spot on with the sardonic but grudging respect that Bond has for Q. Completely different personalities but in today’s world Bond knows he has to rely on back up from the geeks even if it’s not his forte. Lots of people don’t realise that the reason for the sarcy comments in the first place was to lighten the mood so they didn’t get hit with an X rating for violence, not because the character is a budding stand up comic. Still had a smirk at “that really blew his mind!”

The scene in Q's flat was basically a gay Harry Palmer
I liked the way Timothy Dalton delivered the one liners. He was totally deadpan, like he's just killed someone, he's going to kill some more, and he doesn't give a shit if you like it or not. "Watch the birdy, you bastard" was one of my favourites
I liked his first words “She’ll
“Turn the bloody machine off!” As he’s about to get chomped by the giant mincer
I liked Dalton’s first words as Bond when he lands on the yacht (grabs phone out of bewer’s hand) “She’ll call you back!”The scene in Q's flat was basically a gay Harry Palmer

He looks the part provided he bulks up a bit and he was f***ing tremendous in Mad Max Fury Road.
MI liked Dalton’s first words as Bond when he lands on the yacht (grabs phone out of bewer’s hand) “She’ll call you back!”
Also as he’s about to get minced “TURN THE BLOODY MACHINE OFF!”
BTW did someone say ‘fuck!’ in NTTD? I think I heard that towards the end. Got to be a first for the series eh?
think i need to rewatch his two films...I liked the way Timothy Dalton delivered the one liners. He was totally deadpan, like he's just killed someone, he's going to kill some more, and he doesn't give a shit if you like it or not. "Watch the birdy, you bastard" was one of my favourites
yeah i thought that too... presume the censors don't give a single fuck these days?Got to be a first for the series eh?

I didn’t know that. Will have to check next time it’s on!Ralph Fiennes gets an F bomb in. Not the first time though, that was Dame Judi who said "I really fucked this up, didn't I?" at the end of Skyfall.
You're allowed one "fuck" in a 12A film. And more more than five "c*nts" in a 15.
Not sure Hoult has the charisma and not familiar with the other fella.
Yep first fuck and also a brutal arm break scene never seen owt like that before in Bond I’m surprised it’s still a 12a thought one fuck was enough for a 15I liked Dalton’s first words as Bond when he lands on the yacht (grabs phone out of bewer’s hand) “She’ll call you back!”

I’m sure he’s in gangs of LondonNot sure Hoult has the charisma and not familiar with the other fella.
Luke or Harry Treadaway or Andrew Garfield would add a nice bit of menace to Bond. I'm showing my age and thinking 'young' and they all seem to be late 30s!
I loved that they played 'We Have All The Time In the World'. Still the best Bond theme for me. Billie Eilish was underwhelming, but I'm not a fan of slow breathy singing.
I’m sure he’s in gangs of London
Still got a few to watch but yeah his fight scenes are brutalThat's right. Sope Dirisu. He'd be at the younger end of the spectrum as he's just turned 30. He has all the attributes though. Tall dark and dangerous, the way he was described in the original books. In Gangs of London he's undercover taking extreme risks, getting it on with the daughter of one of the gang bosses he's infiltrating, and he's absolutely lethal in the fight scenes.
Needs a layer cake style audition movie to seal the deal. That's right. Sope Dirisu.

Here we go again.Overly long and too much fluff. Even the chase/action bits looked a bit tired and lazy and not enough humour. I think they're remodeling Bond/the franchise thing to be a bit right-on (much prefer the womanising hard drinker mesel like).
5/10 for me (I'm nee Mark Kermode like).
Here we go again.
I blame Roger Moore.
The series never set out to be humourous in any way and the books certainly weren’t. The films moved away from the books around Diamonds Are Forever (YOLT was nowt like the book but a decent entry, OHMSS was very close to the book) and completely lost their way from say Moonraker until they finally got rid of Moore and Dalton began a long slow reset. For some time now they’ve been aiming at the adult action-espionage genre. Does anyone come away from a Jason Bourne fillum complaining that it wasn’t funny?
You can like it or dislike it mate it’s up to you but I’m sick to death of people moaning about James Bond films not being funny. News Flash - Roger Moore almost killed the series and he hasn’t been Bond since A View To A Kill in 1985. Thats 36 years. It was a bit so-so.
Is that a better review?
