I'll set aside the replies to SAFC fans, because that's tribalism. Any criticism from your fanbase will be viewed first and foremost as jealousy and rivalry. Rightly or wrongly, that is the nature of the beast.

Twitter is awash with bad opinions and false bravado. I look at the results of the Athletic, the conversations I've had with fans, the vox pops, the lads who've been interviewed.

It's wrong to try and paint Newcastle fans as any different to fans of other clubs. The average Newcastle fan is reacting in exactly the same way as would the average Leeds fan, or Villa fan, or whomever.

I repeat what I've said, how Newcastle fans can do themselves proud is by not abetting the sportwashing and by amplifying the voices of those who speak of the atrocities carried out in KSA.
Do you think they will? Serious question? It was mentioned on the Max Rushden podcast that Bayern fans takes banners to the game demonstrating against Qatari involvement with the club. So far we have only seen comedy Arab dress and Saudi flags on display from your supporters. Will anybody dare to put their head above the parapet?

German football fans are light years ahead of English fans in terms of support and thought processes. They’ll be looking at this whole thing and thinking “that’s disgusting”.

There was a Mag on here last night (I forget his username, he was that poor at what he was attempting) using our fans' intial support of Adam Johnson (whilst still an innocent man) as means to have a dig with regards to morals.
I presume him and his ilk will never set foot in a stadium owned by a regime who only changed the law regarding little girls being forcibly married (and raped, obviously) a couple of years ago. One who also granted nearly 500 weddings of men marrying under age girls after this under a 'special cicumstances' directive last year?
There is still no age of consent in Saudi Arabia as you have to be married although, with courts being allowed to decide what is a special case in order for grown men to forcibly have little girls marry them (well over one a day, on average) it will be interesting to hear the Adam Johnson song on Sunday when they play Tottenham with zero self-awareness of who their latest masters are and what is allowed on a dsily basis there.

Apparently we are the ones who tolerate and support paedophiles though...
