Can't see it, but if it did what would happen. The sale is cancelled and Ashley becomes the owner again?

Past that unfortunately. Must have been passed legal for money to change hands. Some lawyer somewhere must have signed it off.
Plus Man Utd might get reminded about their strategic partnership with Saudi...
Probably because we have a massive passionate support and a big profile of been a top club and playing in the champions league in recent memory. And they know the fervour of our support will see them treated like heroes and that the atmosphere will be better than if they had picked some tinpot club like Villa

Got to be more to it than that.

Ralf Rangnick as sporting director would be a serious show of intent
Another spineless ****, piss off.

I think it's more to do with the fact that they see your fans as gullible as fuck and the easiest set of fans to sportswash tbh

Tinpot club like Aston Villa, good post until I seen that. The club that won the European Cup and European Super Cup since Newcastle last won a trophy and 4 league cups. This is why you get stick, they’ve got to share their City with 3/4 other good teams, what a pathetic post of self-entitlement saying Aston Villa are tinpot- club that managed 35,000 in the Championship. Great club great fans with actual history

You all said Ashley was such a good owner so surprised to see you are all sad he has gone. Strange. Pre Ashley you had to watch us mags challenging at the top end of the league and in Europe more often than not. He has had his boot on our neck for 14 years and you still couldn’t manage to finish ahead of us more than a few times. Now he’s gone you know we are going to be back pushing Europe like we used to pre Ashley.

And for the poster who was on about us having a superiority conplex, yes we do. We see ourselves as bigger than most clubs. Like when we went down to the championship we said we don’t belong here and we are gonna p**** it and we did. If we never I doubt we would have got a takeover like this. If we were happy with a small time mentality of coming 16th in the PL maybe we wouldn’t have got this takeover. PIF know we want and expect a club of our size to be pushing the top 6.

We are worlds apart as a fanbase,we see ourselves as a club that should be in Europe like we used to and you see yourselves as no bigger than a Birmingham or Ipswich etc. Now we are worlds apart as clubs ( not that we weren’t already.) likes of some of our past players such as Solano, Laurent Robert, Asprilla, Ginola etc are better than anything you lot have ever had in your entire history. Never mind likes of Shearer.

You had to watch us from 94-2006 in Europe most seasons while you mostly floated about the wilderness with a team of cloggers and that’s what’s ahead the next decade too. Can see us reaching 200 games in Europe before you ever add to the 4 you played in the 70s :lol:

And you seriously think that could happen?

Could the rest of the league mount a legal challenge, but it they do, would it also implicate Man City, or is it entirely different?

It's entirely different. There's a far clearer separation of Mansour and the Abu Dhabi state for a start. And Abu Dhabi is comparatively liberal. Plus their ownership predates the owners and directors test. The clubs' argument will be the the PL board have failed to follow their own procedures correctly in waving the deal through.

Sportswashed. Morally bankrupt.

Why should people move on and what business is it of yours whether they do or not?

Should people always ignore important issues and simply move on?

Should people just look at 9/11 and think, it's done, let's move on?

And wtf are you moving on to, another pastie?

I think what he means is that nobody on here gave a shiney shite about the Saudis human rights record a few years ago and now everyone is pretending to be up in arms about it. If people were so bothered why wait till now, why not protest years ago about them?

They've got their takeover. It's happened. I'm not going to pretend to be outraged about something I've never given a toss about before just because they've bought them lot. I guarantee if they'd bought Arsenal or the like nobody on here would bat an eyelid. We've just got to concentrate on what we do and be the best, most competitive football club we can be and I think we are on the right track in that regard. Hopefully being in direct competition against the richest club in World football for supporters, young talent and, fingers crossed, on the pitch again when we return to the PL sooner rather than later, can drive our club on and give us the extra determination to do all of that.
