We're going to go round in circles on this mind if the mags keep up the whataboutery. A football club should represent the community and the fans. The fans should have a voice when it comes to who is in charge. Disney is different, they've got some shares. Yes you could choose to boycott every company they have shares in but, given how many dodgy regimes have shares in various companies, you might be left with very few products and services to use.

That's not the same as this though. If the mags genuinely had a conscience they could say that they don't want this regime associated with their club and their city. It reflects on the supporters much more than whether they subscribe to Disney+. Effectively your club is now Saudi Arabia. Many of your fans say Ashley hated you, your new owners are hardline Islamics who no doubt take a very dim view of the common image of Newcastle. They basically think you're infidels but they'll use you for their own purposes. I don't really give a fuck if some shareholders from a streaming company I use think I'm an infidel. I wouldn't want it from the owners of my football club though. I wouldn't want them using my club's name to sportswash their image. If you're fine with it then crack on, loads of ours would be too, but stop the whataboutery, it does you no favours and drags the thread in circles
The best I’ve seen it articulated so far and very hard for them to argue with.

Getting sick of them asking to be regarded as overgrown helpless babies with no influence over anything now the takeover is on.

When it looked off they were able to organise militantly: signing petitions, organising bus trips to London, letters to Parliament, familiarising themselves with Competition Law and Tribunal processes.

Its a Propaganda exercise by an authoritarian state that repeatedly demonstrates its inability to tolerate dissent. If they'd protested against it the way they do pretty much all the time, the whole thing would have been off. A propaganda push wouldn't work if every fixture becomes about KSA's many failings.

I also really dislike them asking 'are you suggesting I shouldn't go?' as if that's going to be like losing a leg or something. Yes I am suggesting that!

Was reading about an Israeli teenage girl yesterday who is going to jail as a conscientious objector for refusing to serve in the IDF. Then you can go online to see a load of flabby middle aged men in one of the most affluent countries in the world blathering on about how 'Amanda is allowing them to dream' because their football team which usually finishes about 12th might finish top 4. Meanwhile as these pathetic scumbags celebrate, Khashoggi's fiancé says she's heartbroken that its gone through.

Have they got any idea how dishonest and pathetic they look? One of the few heartening things about looking at twitter has been seeing the sheer contempt and disgust being directed to the supporters from people all over the world. Not the club or the owners either, people are absolutely disgusted by the supporters, and understandably so.

The young mag on football focus seems quite sensible and realistic. They do exist.
In all seriousness the majority of Newcastle fans won’t be 100% happy about being owned by a repressive regime like Saudi Arabia.

But Newcastle, as we, the UK and MBS know have a lunatic fringe of loud and gullible fans fed on Sir John Hall’s Geordie Nation shtick.

By completing the deal with indecent haste, they must’ve hoped the noise from these fuckers would drown out everything else.

If it wasn’t for kids and their damn Twitter 🤜🏻

I guess you’re all going to stop using facebook because they own a decent chunk of them. Or stop going on Cruise holidays because they own a chunk of Carnival. Or stop watching super hero movies or taking your kids to theme parks because they own a chunk of Disney? No.. didn’t think so 😂

Need to think of a new name for them:
- ISIS FC?
- Murdering bastards FC?
- Newhalhal United?

or how about just a blend of everything:

- Yemenense butchering, 9/11 enabling, terrorist funding, gay bashing, women beating, Holocaust denying, journalist murdering black and white *****?
Newcamel? @Market Where?

Forgive me if I think it's wrong to attack the way a woman looks. I've mentioned this before elsewhere so it's not like I'm being precious. I said the same thing recently on the politics forum.

As a society, we need to stop body shaming and insulting people on the way they look. We need to be better than that.

As I said, attack one of the very many legitimate points, but let's not stoop low enough to insult the way a lass looks.
Remind me what you called Peter Reid again?

i don’t do any of those things mate

Just been listening to Max Rushden and a times journalist. Both massively against this takeover. The journalist said he was appalled at the street scenes but more appalled at the disgusting posts on Khashoggi windows timeline.

Max asked him about the PL stance that the kingdom of Saudi do not own the filth. The journalist said "I'm not even going to waste my breath on that"

So everyone is basically clear that the state do own the filth.

So question is what's masters and co gonna do now.

Check some earlier posts on this ridiculously dimwitted viewpoint.
