They’ve campaigned for it since it broke last year mate. Although you’d be right insofar as they had little influence in any PL decision let’s not pretend they aren’t up to their nuts in this.

The real shitstorm didn't start til after he signed, then it rapidly gained momentum. Be interesting to see what happens in the coming days, weeks. The way social media is now compared to a few short years ago, I personally feel they'll cop a lot of criticism. Both from media and fans alike. Whether many of their fans will be arsed or not will depend on the kind of person they are ? But I dare say it will start to wear down even the most thick skinned over time.

The mags have been starved of any success, so I think it's harsh to rag on them for being a little elated about the possibility of them getting in the top four.


It's a short sighted view of wanting success.
