Stan Collymore has gone with the.. "if you use something linked to Saudi" you are a hypocrite for criticising them view.
Stan collymore in being as thick as pigs shit shocker. They way he treats women is a matter of record so it comes as no surprise to me he wouldn’t think there’s anything wrong with the Saudis.

We are gonna lose a massive generation of fans like, massive kick in the balls long term. We will be lucky to get 20000 in 10 years time, regardless of our league
I thought after Covid we would be lucky to get 20,000. We will be fine i think, may be sat above the fuckers in the league a year today ……….

4 of the big 6 usually finish (though not always) in the top four. They have plenty of investment to make before they are even close enough to sniff their arses. Then even more to break into it. I have some very good friends who are mags and don't begrudge them this one iota, though I will be tapping into their morale compasses.
It's unbelievable mate. People need to look at whats happening at our club, and imo that's positive, and not worry about something we have no control over.
☝️

Agreed.
I've no doubt they'll improve but fuck me they've a hell of a long way to go to even compete with those 3.
Quite.

Also, this makes them absolutely the bad guys of the league, something their sensitive egos will struggle to cope with.

Other than that: no opinion, not particularly arsed.

I never said money guarantees anything. I just mentioned that Everton were able to spend £500m on new players over 5 seasons despite not being in Europe.

And now they can’t. They’ve had to tighten their belts massively this season because their spending spree didn’t work. That’s the point. It’s very high risk to just throw money at it these days which is precisely why they won’t go down that route (as per their own published plans).

Aye it is & getting Pickford/Henderson through in particular was massive for us. My point is we won’t be the place to be though

Had this discussion with a mate yesterday. We’ve had the infrastructure in place a lot longer than they have at academy level, have several players we’ve developed either in our team/squad or playing professionally up and down the leagues. The two you’ve mentioned, one is a Premier League winning captain and the other is England’s number 1. This is despite several players let go for peanuts in the last few years and being in League One for the last 4.

In comparison the Mags have Paul Dummett and the Longstaffs.

We also seem to have an operating model (still a work in progress) that here is a place where promising young players can come and play games and will get their chance - Cirkin, Huggins, Hoffmann etc

They can hoy millions at it but they’ve a long way to go. The claims you’re making are ludicrous.

Are you serious? I followed Newcastle for years, first game in 1972/3. I have no reason to praise Sunderland, but fuck me, one thing you've never been short of is support through the gate. Same as Newcastle. Both had their lean years, but always compared favourably wirh anywhere in the country for crowd sizes.

Not a chance mate, they will spend 100s of millions in January without doubt
Maybe maybe not
Truth is they’ll be staying up either way - all they have to do is sack Bruce and there’s no way they’ll be getting a worse manager in!
Irrelevant though to us as we just need to get out of our league asap

Would potential champions league football and potentially winning major honours change your mind? Genuine question
Nope. It genuinely wouldn't. I'd rather be shit than be tarred with the same brush as large scale Human Rights abusers. I'm sure there are loads of excuses that can and will be made to justify being associated with people who murder journalists in embassies and the myriad other reasons why the Saudi regime is barbaric.

Theyll reach the CL eventually, too many resources for them not to.

Hard to see anything else surely?
The resources they've announced publicly are nowhere near the level required for getting into the top 4. Man City have spent £2.4B in the past 5 years on wages and transfers. Staveley announced the mags total 5 year budget as £250M, peanuts in comparison to the current top 7 or 8.
