I've said all along. Oil prices may be high at present but our country and others are stopping production of petrol-fueled motors within the decade. That, along with the drawbridge long sice being hoisted in football will likely prevent the 50-thoosand screaming Jawdees receiving/nay demanding ludicrous spending
Isn't the the point of the PIF the though? Puts Saudi wealth in a much more diverse range of areas. They will hope to earn money back on their investments it's not just an oil fuelled money pit

That isn’t ‘their’ pool of companies. It’s a list of companies they have investments in.

It’s a dreadful argument which has been touched on multiple times.
And shot down in flames at the time, and repeatedly since. That was aimed at the mags and no one else. That’s why we see it repeated on here by mags.

Years of stagnation, all they want is progress on the pitch, a chance to get their club back... finally happening and Mags all over Twitter are creaming their pants at what Sunderland fans think of them getting taken over.
I thought we should be happy? after all "investment in the region" was promised.

Interesting article about Everton's situation.

Interesting that Maguire cites having to offload players off the wage bill, will be a major problem for the mags, even the likes of Gayle, Hendrick, Murphy and Hayden are tied up for years.

Mags: Tha reejun has been crying out for investment for years man wa need it.

Also Mags: Sunluns a shithole lollolololol.
Wait...So what you're saying is, they weren't really hoping for investment in the region, it was just a PR statement to try and take the edge off the questions about the investors, really all they cared about was the sweet sweet cash??

Colour me shocked.

Reflecting on this I'm not that bothered. It's clear they're not going to throw the kitchen sink at it. I remember talk of the Leicester model about this on here ages ago - that's easy to say and very hard to implement, with lots of competition. Should keep them in stable in the PL for a few years but the likelihood is they will win nowt, everyone will laugh at them, everyone will hate them and everyone will want to beat them.

My only regret about this mind is that we are still in league one and I feel we're "Left behind" a bit.

But all circumstances aside I'm very happy with the owner we have now, and we'll still be competitive in our own way when we get back.

KLD is a great owner to have and so we shouldn't be green eyed in envy.

Well they certainly can’t claim to be the nations second favourite team now.
