Why are the Saudis not buying the mags purely themselves? Got these Reuben gonks part of the party

Are the Saudis helping to give their "close friend" Staveley a play toy shes been craving

I'm off to bed, as it's late. I will try and respond to the torrent of abuse I undoubtedly receive tomorrow when possible.

I feel like I've not made myself come across very clearly and it's hard to do so when responding to so many people at once.

It’s because your previous positions on most things have put you in a position where you cannot come out of this looking good. Backed into a corner by your ‘power of fan action’ shite.

Simply put, if you believe it works you and other fans could protest the heinous new owners you’re getting, who are inarguably orders of magnitude worse than Mike Ashley in their impact on human life.

Yet you won’t. You’ll sit on here meekly saying “Well what can I do?” because you think they’re going to buy you some trophies.

Again, have fun celebrating your food banks.

Not initially no, like I said earlier look at what Man City did it was signing the likes of Gael Clichy, Sagna, Adebayor, Robinho etc before then they moved up a notch. It will be similar with those, certainly won’t be signing Haaland or Mbappe but in 5 years time they may be in that position.

Manchester is a very different place to the North East though. For someone rich there's absolutely nothing for someone up here.

Manchester has Cheshire on its door step which has some of the richest people in the country especially around the Knutsford / Winsford / Macclesfield area.

It's not about the club, it's about the area and living in the area.

It's not a co-incidence all the big clubs are in the North West and London.

What’s the worst that will happen? A £50 million fine that gets overturned/reduced when appealed
Points deductions are the weapon of choice, which kind of hampers your chances of winning the title somewhat. PIF is an investment fund, pissing billions up the wall in a far flung forgotten outpost of North east England wont be part of the plan.

I think they owe Ashley some thanks if it goes through. Not that they will. How many owners would have just took their non refundable deposit from Staveley and co and let it die and move onto the next target to buy the club. Apparently there were a few viable purchasers sniffing according to the CAT outputs

Because Ashley loves to be a **** basically he just thought nah fcuk it I’m going to make the PL lives a misery and bring arbitration and CAT cases and god knows what against them and I’m going to fight to make it all public. They’ve clearly shit themselves now and just passed it all through

If this all works out for them as they hope.
I can’t see Arsenal or Spurs making the top 4 again. only a matter of time before one of them drops off completely and just becomes another also ran

IF it works out as they hope

Football is sick in the head. Dodgy Middle East regimes at Man City and now Newcastle, questionable wealth attained by the owner of Chelsea who nonetheless is a fit and proper person, clubs going to the wall and into administration because of appalling management by irresponsible owners and so it goes on.

Then you’ve got the England team not saying a word about the fact they are going to play in Qatar where thousands of migrant workers have been killed whilst building the vanity project stadia and paid so poorly they have no life and no money to get home. On top of that Qatar has an appalling human rights record. But England keep getting involved in politics that you’d think would make them oppose playing in this World Cup if they were serious about their recent stances.

Sometimes as a fan you really do think ‘what’s the point’ as outwardly the game seems both corrupt and managed in the name of a privileged few.

Pissing away millions is at the very heart of the plan... the plan has nothing to do with a love of football or a future profit.

Elite players will usually always choose London.

An investment fund that throws away money, its set up to create enduring economic benefits not fritter billions? If the deal goes through the KSA goal is already achieved, ethics validated, reputation cleansed.

its a strange one like… the haggling etc the above you've mentioned and the borrowing the PIF did etc

however the Saudis have paid probably nearly a billion quid to get this done - the piracy settlement and the purchase price

It'll always depend on how much over the odds they're willing to pay... how well the player performs if and when he's accepted the filthy lucre but doesn't really want to be there is a different matter of course... as has already been said, buying success isn't a foregone conclusion, though there's no doubt huge wealth is a huge advantage if they manage to use it.

Not sure how I will recover from this snub but as this is the first post I’ve ever noticed from you I think I will be fine.

Crack on but you are doing yourself no favours in worrying about the implications on Sunderland. This the mags - it will turn to shit ultimately.

That's all part of the same geopolitical strategy for them, they knew it was a price they had to pay to be accepted into the club.
