The painted bird 2019.
Currently on Amazon

Young Jewish kid seeking a safe place in eastern Europe during ww2.

Christ this is dark and gloomy as it gets, disturbing at times.

It’s his journey as he find different places and people and how evil and cruel
People can be.

It’s a long haul at nearly 3 hours and don’t be watching with the family.

Gets a very interesting 8/10.

Cry Macho

Clint Eastwood plays Clint Eastwood down in Mexico trying to get a young lad safely to Texas

Not one of his best. 5.5/10

Are you serious? Great film. The director has made a few very good films, one being this film and another being Bone Tomahawk
Just rented this on Prime based on your post so I hope its good.
You’re 100% correct. It’s garbage. Not one believable thing about it. If they said it was set in Narnia it would improve it!
Ah ffs man
Edit:
Bloody hell that was brutal

Enjoyed it though. A heartwarming 3/4 from Mux.

Old [2021] 7/10
M. Night Shyamalan's latest about a secluded beach that ages everyone prematurely who goes there.
Good premise but not creepy enough and the ending was wrong.

The Card Counter [2021] 7/10
A card-counting, gambling ex-con seeks redemption but finds trouble, in Paul Schrader's latest.
Unevenly paced with underwritten characters. The flashbacks were superbly shot, though.

Old. Intriguing enough story but as with these things they are almost impossible to conclude satisfactorily. Still a 7/10 tho.

You watched Brawl? Now go watch Bone Tomahawk.
I will, I have it on my watching alongside the other one from that director which I think is called Dragged Across Concrete or something.

The blokes skull in the jail is still haunting me

Dragged across concrete is more of the same but with cops and guns.

It would have been better having them both drown beneath the coral then another group of people arriving at the resort, about to experience the same experiment. Much creepier.

Pig (2021)
Nic Cage. About a vagrant and his truffle pig. Found it to be an enthralling drama with rather tragic consequences. Absolutely superb.
I'd rate it 8/10
No Man of God (2021)
The complicated relationship that formed between FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier and serial killer Ted Bundy during Bundy's final years on death row.
Terrific performance by Luke Kirby as Bundy. Extremely convincing portrayal.
It's an 8/10 from me.

Bone Tomahawk

Western style crazy film, almost in a Tarantino style. Not a billion miles away from Django Unchained.

The violence is right in your face and brutal, just like Cell Block 99 and exactly as @Motor City Cobra described it.

The film literally begins with a brutal scene, I'm talking within the first 5 seconds. Never experienced that before.

Very good and once again I'm pleased I took a recommendation from this excellent thread.

It's a bone curdling 3/4 from Mux.

Re-watched 'Taxi Driver' and still frustrated by the ending, thought maybe i'd see it differently now i'm an old fart but not to be. Can't get the spoiler box thing to work so ill leave it at that. Solid 8/10 from me.

Side Effects (2013) think someone mentioned it on here so gave it a go. Decent crime/medical thriller. 7.5/10
