I wonder if the Chronicle will cover this story? They didn't appear to bother with the jail sentences handed down (for bouncing up and down in a pub doorway for 5 minutes) to the Gremlins top boys the other week. Likewise I don't think they ran the story of Voldermort and the punch up at the kebab shop in Morpeth which various national Red tops covered. Is it simply because there's no direct relevance to the takeover or are they actively censoring out any negative stories to do with the club?

Yep -absolute shambles. Players with a history of fighting each other on and off the pitch. Loads of players who don’t give a fuck. Over entitled fans believing everyone is against them shouting at shops and writing to the PM because a brutal dictatorship decided they didn’t want to buy the club. Smashing your own city up and punching horses when you lose games. Idolizing pretty average managers whilst hounding out others with an equivalent or better record. Mind it’s all the owners fault. who saved you from bankruptcy by ploughing in 10s of millions of his own money which he hasn’t had back yet and developing a sustainable financial model. Utter shambles of an owner!

It all started going wrong for him for us when he was doing pretty well. We were top/ middle and fans were calling for investment for a European place. Bruce ( quite rightly imho) told the fans to calm down as we were only Sunderland and we needed solid foundations first. A bad choice of words perhaps but looking at where we are now probably correct. The fans turned on Bruce for this but didn't turn on MON when he said the same thing.

Overall I thought Bruce signed some decent players in Bent, Zenden, Cana, Gyan. When they were sold Ellis didn't give him anywhere near the cash received to replace them and the players he brought in were clearly not good enough. Probably he should have stood his ground and demanded more money to bring in better quality players a bit like what he should be saying the same to Ashley.

Can anybody see us beating Chelsea 0-3 at Stamford Bridge anytime soon?

And he wasted loads of money here on Wickham, Gardner, Brown/O'Shea, Ji. I agree he built a decent team, but then he totally fucked it in 2011.

See also how when he first came it was all talk about "shopping at Harrods now", then 2 year later it was "Sunderland fans expectations are too high", the blokes a coward, and proven to not be up to it a decade ago.
 
The takeover breaking down was by far the highlight of lockdown, cheered me right up listening to AS crying on talksport. Since then it has just got better and better

It won't happen unfortunately. The chasm between the premier league and the Championship makes it almost impossible for you to get relegated. It'll be some achievement if Bruce manages it mind
