SpaceX are going for it

Great thanks
Stacking started :eek::eek::eek:

How are they doing it all so fast man 😂

because they are using a different design philosophy. They a building testing it, changing it building it again. Repeat until as good as it could be and is proven safe before anyone boards it. It’s very different to SLS where the very first flight of it will have people on board, so it’s got to have every possible issue thought of and irons out.

Jesus. That is incredible.

Is there an app or something that will keep me updated with developments / launches etc?

next Spaceflight is a good app, but because spacex are going at such a speed with everything it sometimes misses the odd test

youtube is by far the best place to keep up to date

The best channels are

nasa space flight, they have videos and live streams everyday

WAI what about it has great weekly update videos

Marcus house does great content too

It’s so refreshing and interesting. Compare how they are building this to SLS. We’ve basically not seen or heard anything about it for months.

NASAspaceflight on YouTube are a bunch of space geeks, and they live stream everyday, and they are very knowledgeable. Spacex have thrown away the instruction manual, and are doing everything their way, it’s going to be insane when they catch these things out of mid air when landing (this first one is gonna ditch in the ocean so they don’t destroy the new tower)

mated. All 120m of it together for the first time.

Compared to SpaceX Branson and Bezos are just driving down a dead end street.
Branson is targeting a relative cheap way of people experiencing zero G, even for a short time. Bezos is doing New Glenn which will be huge, but not as huge as this (98m vs 120m), but there has been no sign of it being starting to be built. They are aiming for that first stage to be re-usable. But they will have a lot of learn that spacex already knows through there 80+ landings of falcon9.

Whens he lighting the blue touch paper?

Well it's been taken apart again, so must have been a test to put them together. I'd expect a couple of weeks before they light it up. There will likely be a test tank fill, then a static fire before they do it. I'd guess at this rate they will probably want it up and tested sooner rather than later so they can get going on starship 21 and booster 5. They have got a few bits of booster 5 started.

Everyday astronaut has released the second part of his production site tour with Elon, boy it’s insightful

man is a genius

The crew are very likeable. It’s gonna be exciting for them, better than the billionaire dick swinging competition

Its a ballsy mission IMO. Can’t believe the lack of media coverage. Branson and Bezos went up for 3-4 and 9 mins respectively, just to the edge of the atmosphere before coming back down. Can barely call it ‘space’. SpaceX are sending 4 civilians 530km up, further than the ISS to orbit the earth for 3 days!

Spacex are quietly outdoing them all, yet bezos is still suing NASA because they awarded the contract for human landing system (HLS) on the lunar surface to spacex and not his company, yet blue origin bezos’ space company have not launched anything into true orbit yet. Spacex have launched approx 200 successful rockets at this point. Bozo has just bitten the hand that feeds his company
