They started on him in 2001 as well, badly enough for him to have a go back:

So they spat at him when he was England manager. Then hurled abuse at him in 2001 when they weren’t top 4. Then they crawled up his arse for 2 years when he was top 4. Then back to abusing him when he came 5th, eventually getting him the sack.

It'll cost MA £4 million to get shot, then a new manager, then a rebuild. I doubt he'll sack him. And Tim Sherwood might have joined some other club in the meantime.
