Absolutely shocking bowling tonight from England. Lines all over the place, never looked like taking a wicket and negative as f*ck in terms of only getting through 16 overs in that time too. Root should’ve been rushing everyone round to get as many in as possible. Instead they’re whinging about the ball, wandering about between overs, defeatist attitude.

Im not overly convinced with his batting, but think right now he's the best of a bad bunch...but a crap slip catcher

Yes. He’d played well up til then. Still a valuable member. Would have liked to see him have a few overs tonight. Feel he could have a very important role to play with the ball yet.

but that’s such a shit shot. As you say played well

he’s a canny cricketer

but that’s why he can’t be rely on to bat any higher up. He just does that out of nowhere

I agree in the ball aye should have had an over of 2

it’s frustrating as he really is a good technically sound batsman, he isn’t the problem as he’s batting at 7 l, the top order is the problem, but he just can’t help himself!

on a wider point I hope it doesn’t result in massive increase in security in cricket grounds. A great joy is strolling round the ground etc

Yep agree fully. I love him too such a great cricketer, he’s got everything, but just can’t rely on him. Wish we could!
Last time he played a Test for us at the oval he bowled SA out and got a hat trick, could still a huge role to play for us with the ball imo.

Let’s wait and see… it’s overcast until late afternoon today, so if we are going to get any movement it will be this morning. Looks mid 20s and belting sun all day tomorrow so pitch could still be good for batting tomorrow.
