England v India (2nd test) Lords

aye I cracked like. Really immature stuff too.
Nice picture of my LinkedIn photo as a profile pic

then 20 tweets of calling Kohli a twat
Only consolation you can take is that at least they know how much they and their team are despised. Whether they care is another matter, but they have such a high opinion of themselves it must sting a bit surely?

im not sure it’s registering

I remember the mags trying that stuff when we beat them for the 6th time in a row. Can’t say I was fussed like!

Quite embarrassed by that performance really, so many issues I don't know where to begin, Sibley and Burns should never play for England again, never in a million years are they test material. We're monumentally fucked if either one of those two open our batting. Don't know where to begin with the number 3 position either, Hameed won't get another chance.

Root is just fighting as losing battle, sheer class in a top order of worse than average batters, I'd persist with bairstow personally though. Buttler, not sure, he battled a bit today, but isn't doing anywhere near enough with the bat.

Sam Curran just isn't good enough, Anderson is in the same bracket as Root, though I really do like the look of Ollie Robinson, hope to see more of him for England in the coming years mesel.

Overall though, simply not good enough. And our opening batsmen for me are the main area of concern. Needs changing one way or another before the ashes.

i really feel for root tbh. At this point he goes into every test knowing if he doesn’t perform we get no where near. Must be some pressure

Robinson has been the only plus point of this year for me, other than Root with the bat and Jimmy being Jimmy.

I love how I’m not the only one incredibly wound up by this 😂

I’m genuinely annoyed

sat in a hotel room in Scotland still ticking

pathetic on my behalf

You might be right

but it’s worth remembering that after 4 days we had the upper hand

it hasn’t been a hopeless 4 days

been a bad last day

I admit root carried the batting though

Go outside and remind yourself it could be worse, you could be Scottish.

Think Moeen bowled well, he has to be the main spinner from now on.
Forget about his batting though and he tried to apply himself

Don't mind losing but not to arseholes .
His antics last night with the light ffs
mo played well I thought

he doesn’t deserve stick

the bowling cost us this morning

they bowled really really well

they have 4 seamers all as good as each other

no let up

Haha true.

I was gonna say “or Indian” then thought it sounded extremely racist, I mean in cricket behavior terms only!

I know it’s not their fault as such but the way they take everything literally and a slight agains them winds me up. There was one last night losing it because someone dared to say that Ashwin and Leach should be playing. “Don’t compare the master Ashwin to a nobody like Leach” ffs man

Thats the nature of Test cricket though. You can play well for 4/5 of a match but if the mentality or technique isn’t there you can lose matches in a session. And England do it all too often. That’s because some lack the technique, some lack the mentality and some lack both. And as you say, most of our recent decent performances have been as a result of one batsman’s contributions.

I’m not sure where we go from here. It almost feels like we’re in need of a reboot similar to one that we underwent after 2015 in white ball cricket. Looking at that side today, only three, arguably four, players are fully deserving and secure in their positions; Root, Anderson, Robinson and Wood depending on conditions. Questions marks hang over some and big red X should be through a few names.
