England v India (2nd test) Lords

I still can’t get my head around this morning. Testosterone ahead of common sense. Absolutely shocking 9 and 10 at the crease with no runs to their name, an in out field, no slips, a game to be won and we are trying to knock their heads off.
Bumrah averaged 2 before this series. Shami was averaging 8 balls an innings from 2018 onwards

Trying to be clever boys with the bouncers and winding them up bit us on the arse.

please god cancel the ashes could be a 5-0 one the worst test teams we have had.
I think we could see one of the shortest Ashes series, in terms of days of play, ever if it goes ahead this winter.

Wasn't it something like 9 days play in 2002 before Australia had retained the urn? I wouldn't be confident of us lasting that long on current form.

Kohli is a lucky dog, his team mates yet again dig him out of a hole, because it's yet another test where he's had next to no influence in a match.

I know we are going to fuck this up after a shite day for England, but from a neutral perspective this has been a fantastic test match. Almost every session has had some intrigue or incident.

Up until an hour before lunch today all 3 results were still a realistic prospect. It's the reason this is by far and away the best form of the game of cricket.

There’s absolutely no chance of surviving this match. Just give Buttler, Ali and Curran a license. An hour of fortuitous arm chancing might make them panic.
Too late for that, may as well opened with one of them then shut up shop when they got out,

If that happened could not have been any worse.

Tbh though that would probably failed as well.

Personally I thought they declared too late to not give them time to bowl us out,

But did not take into account how shit we are.

I don’t think it’s too late now. We’d have had too much to lose going after this game early on. At this stage, we’ve nothing to lose. I don’t think these batsmen are good enough to block out for 30 overs so just give them license. Entertain the crowd a bit

Agree with all of this, as a fan of test cricket, this has been fantastic to watch and listen to over the past 5 days. No other form of the game can ever be as enthralling as this.

Pity we're shite, but despite that, we've still managed to make it a contest somehow.
