~~Tokyo Olympics 2020/21~~

How come McIlroy is batting for EIRE instead of UK?

Everyone in NI has a choice of which country they represent.

Not usually a fan of golfing but this sudden death playoff is good fun as every shot matters. It's just the standard 4 x 18 holes I find tedious. I'm still not convinced it should be in the Olympic but they would have put more effort into using a format to appeal to people who don't usually follow the sport. Make it more like the Ryder Cup than The Open.

Just a single round then a huge playoff would be a better watch.

Wouldn't produce the best golfer necessarily though

Yeah. I get why they want 4 x18 hole rounds - it produces the best golfer, it’s proven that more often than not that is the best way to determine the best golfer at a competition.

That said, as said earlier, I think a doubles (mixed, so male and female) or Matchplay element would be a better. Could make it a bit different, but would also play to the “country” element of it a little bit more.

Swim lads disappointed with a silver/ European record in the medley, brilliant meet
Bodes well for the Commonwealth games in Brum next year. Shame Scott is a Scotch lad mind.
And gold for us in the blokes freestyle. Good day all round.

Ben Whittaker fought superb again and is through to the light heavyweight gold medal fight.
Straya leapfrogged the Russkies into 4th in the medal table. Good to see they’ve refound their mojo in the pool again. I was actually pleased when they dropped back for a few years as they were getting so arrogant and up their own arses but you need the Aussies to peg back the Yanks.

You could still have a 72 hole stroke play competition in mixed teams, with different formats through the rounds. Maybe do scramble, best ball, greensome and alt shot. That way each round gets progressively harder in terms of format, but it keeps it fresh for the casual viewer.

For the seasoned golf fan, you get the prospect of watching a team like Nelly Korda and Collin Morikawa playing together, possibly the 2 best approach players on the planet, which would be great to watch.

The girls squad is so strong. There's top class swimmers who can't even get in it.

It’s Craig Heap. He lives in the North East. I designed his kitchen for him when I worked at Howdens. He kept changing the design, style, etc…, then went to B&Q to save himself about £100, the tight little stupid voiced ****.
Really enjoyed the gymnastics this week, never thought I’d ever say that 😂 Johnny Vegas on commentary
