Whats your favourite indian dish..

King Prawn Dansak (Vindaloo hot) from the Curry Centre in South Shields. Consistently excellent over many years. You don't get ripped off with the amount of prawns either.

Quarry Lane Tandoori used to do an excellent Lamb Aloo Balti. However, they have sometimes fallen short regarding consistency (quality), imo.

I have attributed this (and other similar lapses from other establishments) as possibly being down to chefs leaving. But that is an assumption.

I've never tried a vindaloo but I'd be tempted to if someone else ordered one. I'd dip in.
I don't fancy getting it if I try it and think it's shite. That would be a bit disappointing.
Vindaloos are genuinely lush. Flavour is well worth the heat imo, which isn't always the case with some.

Garlic tikka chicken Bhuna.
Pilau rice.
Bombay chetties.
Keema stuffed paratha.

Always got to have the poppadoms and pickle tray. Tasty
Starter chicken chat
Chicken Pathia
Veg rice
Few chips
Bit keema nann

Best places for these in Sunderland are spice empire or vu raj

Had this lasy night was tremendous. But different, to my usual order

Bhuna prawn on puri
Tikka chicken Bhuna. Vindaloo hot
Tikka rice
Spicy chips
Garlic nan

Tonight I had chilli fried idli and a masala dosa with freshly squeezed lime soda from Taste of India on East Ham High Street and it was bloody hellish man. Three people fully fed and watered for £35.

I love idli samber and Dosa. I actually bought a dosa maker so I could eat them at home. I like them for breakfast with scrambled eggs, spinach and chile, with a side of left over samber

Other indian faves:

Sarso ka saag makki ki roti
urud daal makani
sabz kofta
chole batura
saag kofta

Poppadoms and pickles
Chicken Chaat on Puri
Lamb Saag
Pilau Rice
Butter Naan
Lager

Ideally at least 3 people so extra starters mains to share.

My wife learned to make them during lockdown, she doesn't have a "maker " though?
