Midfield
Been meat free for about 3 month now had fish maybe once a week fish n chip Friday 😉
Got to say have not missed meat one bit and feel no different if anything a few positive things firstly my bowl movement is much better don’t feel groggy or tired after a meal and have lost about 3kilo
I am a regular gym goer and have felt no change or less energy to my workouts
And most important the food has been great mostly use the BBC good food guide
Any others cut meat out and feel ok about it ?

Not eaten meat since 2015, and I don't miss it, at all.

I was radicalised into going veggie by an ex-girlfriend, and I hated her, and the vegetarianism, for about a month.

After that, the habit has formed, there are no animal products in the house, and do you just eat what there is. I can't even remember what bacon tastes like, and when I am with someone who's cooking it, I don't think to myself that I am missing out.

I've not noticed any difference to my life, really, except I no longer harbour the secret guilt that I am eating cute, sentient animals.

Ten years ago, I'd have laughed at you if you'd told me I had the capacity to make what felt like a massive change, but it's really not difficult.

I have been a little interested in doing it for a while for health reasons but might find it hard as I have quite strict eating/food routine and hardly vary it now with only a few meals that I eat

Don't miss it at all now, tbh after a few years. Move from missing it to occasionally missing it in the same way that I missed the odd cigarette years ago after giving up, to now actively disliking the thought.

Tried going vegan a year or so back but couldn't keep it up. Lots better options now and increasing all the time. I'd be happy with just being vegetarian though and moving towards it - eat much less meat and use replacement products in meals we make. Watched the Seaspiracy documentary on Netflix the other night and following on from the Cowspiracy one it certainly makes me think the whole meat/fishing industry is unsustainable for humanity. Appreciate these things are biased and I don't know whether vegetarianism is truly sustainable either? Basically too may people on the planet!

Looking at cutting down my meat intake. Also want to start growing my own veg when I get my own place too. Mostly driven by financial and environmental reasons more than anything tbh.

Cut out meat for about 6 weeks for a bet.

Found it easier to cut out alcohol which was surprising.

Wasn’t that difficult, I’m just not that swayed by most of the arguments for doing it full time. I like things like bacon and steak too much.

I’ve moved to Quorn mince because I find it doesn’t make much difference in the likes of chilli or bolognese. Probably have meat for my main meal 3/7 days a week.

I’m 2 years without meat. Started having fish again in Jan when I was starting to get bad with Covid.

All I’ll say for anyone who cuts out meat is don’t replace meat with cheese. I did that for about a year. My cholesterol and body fat went through the roof 😂

Feel no different however feel healthier. Which is it?

Fair play to you, the less beef that’s been sold the better the world will be

Veggie since 2007, Vegan for the last 4 years but it took me three failed attempts to become Veggie so I appreciate that it's not the easiest thing.
I suppose just don't give up if you had one indescretion.

I definitely eat a lot less meat. But could never fully go veggie. Nice balance is good for you.

Same here. Been experimenting with meat-free/plant-based alternatives over recent months but still like meat. The quality and range of choices now is certainly better than it was a few years ago. Often eat veg/vegan in restaurants as I find that they have put more thought and effort into the options. Had a mushroom and beetroot burger recently which was more interesting that a bog standard cheese burger..

Can't cope with veggie bacon but some veggie sausages are pretty good.

It's one of the few things in life where people actively choose to live a more boring existence and be smug about it.

If you're that concerned about the environment I'd suggest start by never going abroad again. Or holiday locally. Or don't holiday at all if its that easy for you to cut nice things out of your life.

My mate has just gone veggie and honestly I'm watching him delude himself into thinking he's enjoying it  you can see the look on his face when I'm having a steak or a bacon sarnie but he won't admit it.

Mind you, I've knocked him up some nice veggie meals. I will concede that quorn mince is spot on and if you gave me a quorn chicken nugget and a maccys chicken nugget it would be hard to tell them apart.

Admit it, you reel that comment out at every opportunity.

Embrace the challenge of no meat, you might surprise yourself.

Not eating meat is far more environmentally friendly than skipping an annual holiday.
