Average Cost of Living

I will be finding out what the rental side in the North East will be next month as 2 solicitors and an estate agent drag their heels over a vacant possession. Here is 2 months rent the removals are on the way now give me the keys will be the remit once we have been evicted up here. Rent to buy while the legal profession mess about will be and should have been employed earlier.

Fills you with confidence that said woman couldn't do the maths.
Aye, it makes me think she has an agenda. 😁

Probably cheaper to get a hotel. 😂

I take it, that's without pension contributions & the lower amount will include them?

Possibly, they may as well have included a salary sacrifice car then. A graduate who wants a £950 house for themselves at circa 21 won't consider a pension.

Hence why I left the Uk, couldn't afford it in the end with my modest admin salary of 20k The Uk and America can fuck right off, rip off Britain indeed. I've heard it's similar in Dublin. Unless you're on 50k you're just spending your salary on bills, than Christmas/birthdays come around. I mean, it's my fault i'm not a surgeon, I realise that. Or a famous musician, although I tried. But living a modest life in the UK was no longer was acceptable, knowing full well that other countries aren't so harsh on the population. Buy a house buy a car get in debt and then die when you can't do these things anymore. But make sure you made a few kids to recycle the abuse. In the meantime. Our adverts and government tell us constantly how important we are...

Where did you live in UK? As in the NE you can easily have a decent standard of living on a modest salary.

Where do you live now?

My phone bill was pushing £40 pcm 20 years ago. I had that tiny Nokia and thought I was the balls. No data as WAP hadn't landed by then. Limited calls and texts.

£12 a month now with unlimited calls and texts.

Where did you move to? Presumably it’s worked well for you.

Hopefully it looks after him when he's older too.

My mam was complaining about her BT landline bill being so expensive as she just natters to friends all day so I got her a cheap monthly contract for her mobile. I just can't get it through to her that she should use the mobile to make calls rather than the house phone as she still calls me on my mobile from her landline and leaves a long voice message asking me to call her back.

My mam has unlimited calls on her mobile phone, but pays £14pm for unlimited calls on her talk talk landline. She won't listen.
