Test squad for India series

There must be absolutely no one knocking on the door if Crawley and Pope are set to retain their places in the team.

I think Bairstow might play ahead of either of those, not even sure Pope is fit for the 1st test.
Malan should have been selected as well and batted at 3

The two best keeper-batsmen in the country, makes sense they should both be selected.

Pleased to see YJB back in, hope he gets a chance and grabs it.

Personally would have him in the middle order ahead of Pope/Lawrence if not keeping imo.

Agree that Malan should be in there at 3.

So. what we thinking?

Burns
Sibley
Bairstow
Root
Stokes
Pope
Buttler (w)
Curran
Wood
Broad
Anderson

Leach for Curran if it'll spin?
Does Robinson get in there somewhere? Dare they drop Broad or Anderson?

Got to have spin and pick your best XI.

Crawley
Hameed
Root
Stokes
Bairstow
Buttler (w)
Curran
Wood
Broad
Leach
Anderson

For shits n giggles

Just can't see Crawley getting in the strongest XI given his current form. Burns has earned his place and Wood at 8 gives me nightmares
There’s not a snowflakes chance in hell that’ll be the team or batting lineup, merely what I’d like to see. Crawley for me - class is permanent, form is temporary, and he’s got class. He’s been pretty rank since the 200 I admit but he’s young and looked like was coming back into some sort of form in the ODIs. He’d always get in ahead of the other two for me, I actually think 3 would be a better position for him but then I’d also like to see Malan there.

There’s about as much chance as you or I batting three than Bairstow. If he plays it’ll be in the middle order in place of Pope or Lawrence.

Woakes out with a bruised heel after sitting doing nothing for nigh on a year.

Must be so frustrating but highlights the problems with the rotation system - bowlers can become unfit due to a lack of bowling

Is that right? Id completely forgotten about him to be honest, which sort of says it all. What a waste of a year.

Hameed in for sibley or Crawley 2nd test if they fail twice
Lawrence for Pope or for either of the above should they both fail
Broad for Anderson, Curran for Wood (Depending on Woods fitness, if he's good he plays)
