F1 2021

Would you want every incident that involves the other car DNF’ing resulting in the driver being disqualified then?
When it’s a reckless move then yes he should be black flagged. At best he’s either got no awareness of vehicles around him or is driving too fast for the corner. At worst it was a deliberate move to knock him off.

You don’t think toto would be doing exactly the same then!?
Yes of course. Which is why it proves both were equally to blame as neither would accept further sanctions if it were their driver who won while the other was a DNF. Both drivers could have avoided the collision. Both drivers continued without backing out.

Directline would def be going 50/50 with a Vauxhall Corsa as a courtesy car

I genuinely think Toto would probably say it doesn't feel like a penalty after Max won, but it's done and now time to move on. Rather than acting like a petulant child like Horner is.

We're unlikely to find out though, because Lewis has the sense not to turn in on another car at 190mph, which is why he is the greatest driver there has ever been.

Looks like it was 1 year with an option for alpine to extend for 1 year.

I'd be gutted to see him move to a US based racing series tried watching the indy 500 when alonso drove in it and it gave me a bad head.

Not sure if he would ever do it but a move to FE would be quite a reputation boost for them. Wonder if he would be able to have a go at Moto GP? I know he's talked about it before but is it even possible to go straight to moto GP?
Absolutely no way he could do MotoGP.

Amazing isn't it? The internet warriors have been moaning for nearly a decade that there hasn't been a genuine title race and it's 'boring', now there is one everyone is wetting themselves about one race. It's a title championship at the highest level of professional motorsport (and nothing compared to Senna/Prost or MS and Hill) what do people want, was LH just supposed to let MV drive off up the road in the faster car? Hamilton haters gonna hate I guess.

I think it’s only fair that his win doesn’t stand, he’s had his celebration on the podium but they should take the points off him.
Why? If Hamilton’s “crime” is so awful he should have been black flagged surely in your world.
I would have thought that RB would have there own lawyers. Horner & co are by their conduct bringing the impartiality of the sport and governing body into doubt. Not a clever thing to do. Their focus should be on next race.

Got to agree with that

We’ll see what the lawyers say when the Mercedes black box is investigated

It's crazy, we've got the potential for one of the best title fights in years, the first couple of races showed what could happen. Then a few less exciting ones with wins for both contenders, now finally THE race that lights the blue touch paper for the rest of the year, but instead of relishing the battle, Red Bull and their fans want the competition removed.

Of course I want Lewis to win, but if Max does it and we have a close battle to get him there, it'll be just as enjoyable.

Deaths in F1 are extremely rare these days. Track safety and driver protection is unbelievable.

Jules B was the last one but you have to go back to Ayrton before that.

I’m sure Max is hurt. The G forces were huge but these are well protected superhuman athletes. Track safety at Silverstone is excellent.

You could argue the lack of awareness came from MV though?
But if he knew LH was on his inside why turn in and effectively block LH off. He could and should have gave him space, took the corner wider and in all probability come out still in the lead. But he chose not to and try and bully someone into backing off.

He’s as much to blame as Hamilton, if not more.

This is getting ridiculous from Red Bull now, to be hiring a lawyer for an incident that has been dealt with is verging on bringing the sport into disrepute.

Hopefully the FIA don't bend over for them yet again by going along with this farcical charade.
They're putting as much pressure on the F1 and the FIA as they can.

My personal view is; they're making themselves look like fannies and it will likely backfire.

That's ridiculous but fortunately it won't happen
