Anyone got a Persimmon house.

Doing a good job for the shareholders, but this thread is about whether Persimmon houses are worth buying.
Hes also just masterminded the takeover of avant, which were well built and probably the best spec in the North east, so you can expect coscutting to start, theyv already started only fitting out the ground floors of showrooms 😂🤷‍♂️

TBH I've only drove past that Miller site but the brickwork look very decent, efflorescence is a strange one because if you get heavy rain again it can almost dissapear.
Persimmon in silksworth is nowhere near as good.

Miller advertising for brickies in Sunderland today so must be ramping their site up. Or could be starting phase 2 at south bents.

Well, been in my Persimmon (lego and carboard house) a fortnight now. Lack of care/quality from trades (people) is appaling.
Garage door wouldn't lock ("oh there's a knack") Ah OK middle aged sales woman, I know how to open, close and turn a key to a garage door, a couple of spanners and fixed myself(WHY NOT CHECK)
Patio doors wouldn't shut once opened, a few turns with an Allen key and fixed myself.(JUST CHECK)
Glazed doors ordered months ago, not installed (national shortage) funny that, on sale online and in stores nationwide. "Site manager has found 2 but they are damaged, should we put them on " Er NO...(ahem, Er YES they have)
Integrated door not on (waiting for hinge, kitchen been in 6 weeks) Can buy online for next day delivery.
Mud on carpets,
Sink/Tap scratched to bits, (kitchen manufacturer rang (10am after a nightshit) will to come and inspect. INSPECT WHAT? (the sales woman was the one who reported it)
Extractor hood sounds like my motorbike (without exhaust)
Gate not on,
Turf not laid,
3 calls from durcustcare within an hour at 10/11 am after a nightshift. (surely most people would be at work)
They received an e mail from my wife? (My lovely late wife died a year ago..WTF)
For any interested party I'll let you know what they come up with....
Oh forgot. Half inch gap under the letter box. 2 screws out - adjust - 2 screws in. did it myself (WHY NOT CHECK)
Standard I'd expect. Had a poor experience in terms of quality of finish. Mad it very hard work and gave up to an extent in the end. House is fine and standing four years later.

Millers haven't got a phase 2 at sesburn pal, all one phase only 60odd houses, be off there soon.
They always wanting brickies as are everyone else

We've reserved one up Silky. Got a few worries but trying to keep calm.Theres a one metre section of bushes at the back where Persimmon will stick our back fence, but the neighbour over the back doesn't own this bit of land and neither do Persimmon. Hope the buggers don't just sandwich the bushes/weeds between ours and the neighbours fencing.
We've got about a metre wide strip of no man's land around our estate and it's overgrown with weeds, bushes and bramble, it's a constant battle keeping our side tidy.

King Persimmon lives about a hundred yards away from where I'm drinking garden wine. He has a git wass gaff.

Although I think he may have had retire from his kingship role in disgrace on account of being too rich.

Durham init.

We've looked there and given how much hassle it has been to deal with Lesley before even reserving good knows how bad they must be once they have your cash

Dread to think how bad these modern new builds will be in a generation or two's time.....councils are only too happy to flog off any bit of available land to plug budget gaps and fuck the consequences.
The house builders will have long since fucked off and banked their millions anarl.
The vast majority of these estates are soulless monstrosities....
Planning rant over ;)

Good news on the planning front .

New legislation will enable councils to demand that design and materials should reflect the character of the area …. Tree lined streets and a sense of place and community.

How will they design houses in Ashton or the Docks in Preston then?

Still never had a problem with my new build Miller House. Any problem has been sorted.
Treated me site manager and the lads on the site with respect all the way through the building/buying process. They look after me and we have good craic and laughs.
I’ll be gutted when the site is finished, I’ll miss them.

You live in a git posh area though iirc?

Well it might have been posh if I hadn’t rocked up 🤣
But yeah, it is nice, I love it.

I think from talking to the lads on site, some treat them like poo, my experience, they’ll do owt for you if you don’t treat them like poo. I love the craic with them
I've heard plenty people say Miller are the best when it comes to value for money and quality but no idea if thats true. I imagine the location you're at they've sent their best lads there.
