Anyone got a Persimmon house.

Yeah. £114 were I am. Bit of a gripe considering I doubt they’ll be maintaining the grass and ponds (building site) for the next few years. I know some on some sights who won’t pay it.
If the charge was fixed or RPI increase only, I wouldn’t mind. But the charge increase wording is open ended. Potential absolute rip off with very limited legal protection.

Been loads of negativity for years about their homes, too many laugh it off as project fear.
They do have a lot of negativity. Sales woman admits it but “trying to improve” and have a scheme where you can keep back 1.5 % of house price in order that snagging gets done. Know a persimmon (but does all builders) site manager and mainly most complaints as build the most houses. They all seem to sell and literally building 000’s with a few square miles of me. Hetton, chiltern, newbottle, Sherburn. A lot to do with the site management charge is because the council refuse to do it which is more a disgrace.

Niece’ has gone up about £30 in 5 year (consett)

Well, been in my Persimmon (lego and carboard house) a fortnight now. Lack of care/quality from trades (people) is appaling.
Garage door wouldn't lock ("oh there's a knack") Ah OK middle aged sales woman, I know how to open, close and turn a key to a garage door, a couple of spanners and fixed myself(WHY NOT CHECK)
Patio doors wouldn't shut once opened, a few turns with an Allen key and fixed myself.(JUST CHECK)
Glazed doors ordered months ago, not installed (national shortage) funny that, on sale online and in stores nationwide. "Site manager has found 2 but they are damaged, should we put them on " Er NO...(ahem, Er YES they have)
Integrated door not on (waiting for hinge, kitchen been in 6 weeks) Can buy online for next day delivery.
Mud on carpets,
Sink/Tap scratched to bits, (kitchen manufacturer rang (10am after a nightshit) will to come and inspect. INSPECT WHAT? (the sales woman was the one who reported it)
Extractor hood sounds like my motorbike (without exhaust)
Gate not on,
Turf not laid,
3 calls from durcustcare within an hour at 10/11 am after a nightshift. (surely most people would be at work)
They received an e mail from my wife? (My lovely late wife died a year ago..WTF)
For any interested party I'll let you know what they come up with....
Oh forgot. Half inch gap under the letter box. 2 screws out - adjust - 2 screws in. did it myself (WHY NOT CHECK)

No offence intended, but you will have overpaid for the house.

Avant are very high spec and want you to have that wow moment when you walk in. Unfortunately they overprice for that pleasure.

Persimmon on the other hand are utter scum bags, but you get more house for your money. Same goes for Gleeson.

Have had dealings with most major builders in my previous line of work and would say Miller on balance are the best.
Miller and Story homes, along with Avant, seem very good. I've worked on a few Charles Church houses a few year after they were built to update them, and was shocked at what I'd seen.

Check under your kickboards in the kitchen and behind your bath panel. You will find all sorts left by the lazy bassas.

In the 60s they were called cardboard City round these parts, and all of them were bulldozered 15 years ago. My home is late Victorian and still stands proudly... Yorkshire Stone.

Send them an email requesting your plot file as you require it for your solicitors. Their arses will sharp start nipping at a plot file request and all your grievances will get resolved very quickly

Are we going to have another housing shortage in the future when all the old Persimmon stock needs flattening when it's found to be at the end of its useful life?

I think they're structuraly sound. It's just things like poorly fitted kitchens

Mrs (n) has been on about decorating in this colour and that colour, when we got the walk around the place the rep said no decorating for a year. Music to my ears
