Bikers of the smb

Just got mine back, runs great atm, see what happens tomorrow, got the oil and filters changed while it was in so thats sorted for arran at least, on another note does anybody use trickle chargers at all ? My mec said they are shite and do no good for the battery, i have a Oxford one i use
Yip always used them. Just changed from an oxford to a noco 1a charger. The noco is streets ahead.

Said this before on here, in the winter its best to take the battery off charge it fully and keep it in the warm house. Cold kills em. If you are not using the bike in the winter that is.

What year and make? Ive had to upgrade the r/r on my vfr as the electricals are notorious on that age bike. Surprise surprise the the connectios were burnt out

It’s a 2004 fireblade, the mechanic I use had one and said there was problems with battery and charging on them so is confident that’s what it’ll be. I’m off to the highlands next weekend so fingers crossed the fix does the trick, I don’t fancy being broken down north of Ullapool.

A run like that on a blade sounds painful. Loved my superbikes over the years, had a blade and a few R1's, go for comfort these days.

I have it with my bank, touch wood never used mine but a pal used his to get his bike back from fort William a few years ago.

it’s not bad, it’s an older bike so got a bit more room. Did it on a gsxr600 about 10yrs ago and it was agony.

I have never found Blades to be that uncomfortable. My worst ever experience of pain was running in a Kawasaki ZXR 750. You felt like you were in a press up position and at 50 mph it was agony after even a short while . You needed to be “around” the legal limit before you felt the air lift you up a bit.

The whole bike only seemed to work for me when going fast and was a nightmare in traffic. The worst forearm pain I have every experienced.

Fort William eh, brings back a kind of funny memory
My mate crashed his sp1 on a bend there, bust his leg, there were a few of us, so we just sat with him to wait for the ambulance, then the ambulance came ,lights going etc, came around the corner at speed and crashed into my mates vfr 😂 😂

Made it to fort William and beyond, currently about 700mile in to my trip without hiccup. Got the bike back from the mechanic on Thursday night after he replaced the stator. Had a go on my mates s1000rr, what a machine that is, absolutely amazing.

Ps. Weather has been outstanding up here today.

Nice one fella some going that.

Done 120 miles on Tuesday on the twistys and it was a tough one. Been a while.🤣

Was a fair-sized Blue Angels gathering in Sunderland yesterday.
Must have been 50-60 bikes passed me going from A19 and all along A1231 heading towards town at around 3pm.
Hells Angels had a custom show at their place
Lots of MC’s from all over country

I was there but only for a short while

Imagine if you dropped it?
2 of my mates have just been round the top of Scotland for a few days, talking to one of them last night and he said they both dropped their bikes at different parts of the trip, ( they both ride new GS’s). One while faffing with his heated seat at a junction and the other coming back over the pass from applecross. They do t actually fall very far and we’re easy to pick up apparently, one had a few scratches on the engine bars and the other nothing at all.
