Denver Hume

Getting sick of reading comments from our fan picking apart every comment from LJ. We all complained when we had Parkinson because he was too dour. Now we’ve got a young, enthusiastic manager who is just getting the piss taken out of him for every comment. He’s a little bit different, who cares.

I would never call him "enthusiastic"

Has he been here 4 years.

Supporters having a go because they dont or cant understand what he means .

Anything he says is pulled up. Supporters like that are akin to those up the road.
Those up the road are in PL mate. The fella you won't hear a bad word about just blew promotion in the shittest division our club has ever played in.

Sounds like Hume isn’t that bothered about coming back. Maybe has an attractive offer elsewhere.

I don’t know how going on like a needy ex on Facebook putting out ‘we are better together’ posts is going to make a difference.

I will have a bad word about him if he brings in shite and fails. But until then I wont judge someone on words he uses. To be honest he will know more about managing than anyone else on here I think. Its finding something to beat someone with over and over again. Getting boring and weird to me, and many others.

or it might be that we are in the 3rd division for the 4th season running and got fuc ked by Lincoln City.
And the results were worse than under Parkinson, the football was dour and uninspiring and ultimate failure in the promotion race was everyone’s fault but Lee’s, a man whose managerial CV to date makes him a very lucky bloke to get the Sunderland job.

Well said mate. This place can be pathetic at times it's fly paper for freaks.

Well said mate. It's obvious you're not the only one who feels this way judging from the likes you've received. Trouble is the footballing experts on this forum are more vociferous and will shoot down in flames anyone who disagrees with their opinion

I agree. To be honest, I don't get why people find it so difficult to grasp what he's saying. Makes enough sense to me. I've forgiven him for not getting promoted because he inherited a terrible squad and I never expected him to be able to get them up in the first place. Now is HIS time, and if he doesn't do it, he'll face the inevitable consequences. Until then, he'll have my support.

He was at Bristol City for 4 years and their fans constantly derided his nonsensical manner of talking - why can he not just say the same things using everyday language - when you are being interviewed by the Echo using terms like Plyometric (?), POMO and maturation is just plain daft.

LJ's big problem is he talks this way but delivers underwhelming results as a coach - look at his win rate, his tendency to go on long winless runs. If he was a young manager who was learning his trade we could expect that he would learn from his mistakes and come back better. The fact that he is replicating the faults that were frequently seen in his 4 years at City is a major problem - why would you not expect a long winless run next year when it is what he does?

Anyone seeing the last 10/11 games for us and the way he he was so easily out thought by Lincoln's manager and does not have concerns about his ability has their head in the sand. Very few a calling for his head but very few expect us to go through next season without constant tinkering and a long winless run which WILL cost us promotion. If he talked like an idiot and performed well in his job no one would notice.

As for Hume I'd love to keep him. He's a good player with one major concern - he is injury prone.

Any time anyone points out that maybe some of our fans aren't acting in a very supportive manner they get lambasted with "fans fault" comments. When in reality there is a section of the board and wider fan base that are pretty fuxking negative about everything to do with the club.

Just look at some of the comments on the match thread about every single player even before kick off. Some of it is toxic as fuck, I'm just glad when it comes to actual fans in the ground the vast majority are proper supporters.

Polymeric is an actual scientific term for a type of movement. Polymetrics

Yes, obviously - however, he was talking to the Sunderland Echo and 99.9999999% of people haven't got a clue what that means. Plenty of people on here have now goggled it and do have a clue. The point is he could explain things in very clear language which explained whether he thought Neil would play next year or not but he chooses to use technical language which few understand - its fair enough to think that he does that to make him sound better or a bit of guru. As someone says above after this summer any excuse is gone and Johnson, who sees himself as Guardiola's equal if you read some interviews, needs to get promotion and only that. My guess is he will be found out fairly quickly. According to some Bristol City fans he should have been sacked 2 years before he was. I think Lee Johnson is all 'Emperor's new clothes' - he talks as if he's good but actually he's not a very good manager as was seen in the play offs.

Aye sometimes his jargon is a bit irritating, but I don't understand why it gets some people so riled up. And I don't see why he shouldn't use the proper term for the exercises, if anything it's a good thing as those who had to google now know why Johnson wasn't picking Neil other younger players, they also now know exactly what kind of extra work the younger players need to be doing. And it's on them to go now and do it. Nowt wrong with a bit of education.

His record does have some red flags aye but Kryil is sticking with him and giving him the season. It's time to let him get on with it and see what he can do with the new set up. If he fails again then fair enough, but criticisms before preseason even starts is hardly breeding a winning mentality.
