Bring out the BBQ



Had various types of barbecues over the years, but hate the mess and cleaning them and storage etc. Just ditched my gas barbecue for a teppanyaki grill, used it a few times now and will never switch back they are brill. No mess, might not be for everyone but suits me fine.
 
With the weather as it is I’m sure I’m not the only one lighting the barbecue every day! What’s everyone cooking? Smoked a whole chicken today, was absolutely lovely.
Cooked a hand of pork last Sunday, slow cooked on a charcoal weber for 7 hours,... melt in the mouth stuff 👍
 
Got some Wagyu beef short ribs I might do on the smoker at the weekend.

I’m also a fan of a spatchcock chicken. Easy to do and can chase the bairn around the kitchen waving the spine at her.
 
I BBQ all the time anyway regardless of the weather. But not for a while as missus covered it in shit when karchering the other day so needs a good clean. Will be putting together my new chimenea before the weekend so will be cooking some bait on there at some point over the next few days as it has a good cast iron grill on it.

Didn’t take the ribs out but just done a batch of chicken breasts with a dry rub. Gonna do a smoked meatloaf for tea.
 
The meat for the bolognese has come out brilliantly so now the pan with the sauce is on the grill getting a little bit of extra smokiness...getting excited now. :lol:
 
Probably going to smoke a bit of brisket at the weekend. Have been watching The American Barbecue Showdown on Netflix and a woman did smoked salmon on a cedar plank. Quite fancy some of that.

Loved that series. Smoked salmon on a plank is great, piece of piss and the planks are cheap as chips.

My Bolognese turned out well tonight, nowt like a Bolognese really and I reckon turning it into a chilli would have been miles better but good nonetheless. Lamb kebabs tomorrow I reckon.
