A19 Testo's Roundabout

That's good news but I'm not sure where the benefit will be for those travelling east-west.

That said I'm looking forward to seeing it on my way home this afternoon!
travelling from east to west will be much easier as the massive percentage of people who travel north - south directly wont have to stop at the roundabout, thus the timing of the lights will be able to be changed to favour the now busier approaches of the east and west. where as before, the north south approaches would have had 'priority'

I'd imagine the sequencing of the lights will have changed to allow for the reduced capacity north/south. On the other hand they should have done a double-decker.

Slightly off topic but in those same roadworks, Downhill lane, heading west onto Follingsby lane is now shut. That means no through traffic on Follingsby lane, because the bit of Downhill lane that did lead to Nissan, is now permanently shut.

Edit. Bolded bit is shut to cyclists too, but can still cycle along what was doggers lane.

Haha, timing of the lights, bloody traffic lights on roundabouts, evil.

Bassas, i use that route as a bypass to avoid Whitemare Pool and the A184 when it's all backed up.

Aye. They had just blocked it in the last few hours, i think. There was a couple of work vans in the doggy training field. May have given more info, but i wasn't paying any attention to temp. signs. There'll be a sign at the Follingsby roundabout end, i'd imagine.

shame that. they'd resurfaced virtually the whole run except for the last section up to the Nissan road.

back to queuing for Whitemare pool then..........................

Typical. I started a job at Silverlink 2 weeks before the triple-decker roundabout works started, so had all that faff of that for 2 years. Then once that was done, they immediately started on Testos, which I then had to put up with.

And now, everything should be great? nah, I no longer work at that office, so its all for nowt. Glad for everyone else though.

At least you still have the tunnel!!
Yeah, at least I wasn't doing that trip when they were building that. Mind, I wouldn't have taken the job if there wasn't a 2nd tunnel.

Mind, how in the world do they manage to spend £125m on that flyover. Its a bit of digging, some metal and some road.

Its absolutely unfathomable. I drove past it daily, and if there were 5 people working each time, that would be good. But let's say 50 people worked full time for all 2.5 years, and they were billed at £80,000 each per year. That's £10m.

So what did they spend the other £115m on?
